This is definitely one of my favorite videos that has been published on this channel. Mermaids are seen as beautiful and enchanting creatures, their beauty and euphonious voice are what lures people, mostly men. Oh how I love when that once beautiful and harmless mermaid we all know and adore becomes a deadly and grotesque creature. A deadly siren that lures sailors by using their euphonious voice only to strike. Almost like a twisted fairytale.

I don’t know if you know this but in a few tales, sirens are made out to be mermaids but deadlier and wicked. Although this is not true and in Greek mythology they are winged maidens, there’s always different versions of sirens. I was simply writing about the deadlier side of mermaids as that topic intrigues me, along with the history of sirens and harpies.

For your information: there are two types of mermaids. The classical enchanting mermaid (which Ariel is known as) who is kind towards humans. But they would trick humans into falling in love with them Then the siren, which is an evil version. In Greek mythology, they are depicted as threatening and sing death lullabies in the ocean.

Mermaids and Sirens are different in aspects. Mermaids are seen as beautiful also with Sirens but Mermaids have a very good side and is not harmful to humans. Although Sirens are deadly and will pull you under if you get too close and will also lure them into the water with their siren song which is hypnotizing. Mermaids and Sirens look the same that’s why people get them mixed up. I believe this one was a siren but couldn’t lure them in and only ate them when they were in the tank
