I just can't deal with that hour hand. Someone commented that it looks like a hotdog and I just can not unsee that now. I have nothing against interesting or unique handsets but the hotdog just kills me lol.

It’s a beauty. Bronze isn’t quite my thing. And I agree, even if I was into bronze watches, unless I was really partial to them, the steel version with the bracelet would get my money over this all day long. Still a nice watch. Thanks for the great review.

Nice one Shane. I do like this one and I find the hour hand to be both interesting and tasty 😊 Though I do feel that it should be just a little bit longer. On the price in relation to 904L steel, the per ton price of copper and tin is multiple times that of steel, so I'm not surprised so much at the price differential.

Bronze watches seem to have a cult following, and the owners of such have a very strong afinity with them. Knowing you are about to put on your bronze watch in the morning, changes who you are when you walk out the door!

I have an Aquatico Super Star bronze with tritium and a Wicked Watch Pearl Diver with killer lumicast hands and markers. I like this Wise bronze too but only if it had a different handset.

I have an Addiesdive bronze Willard and I absolutely love it. So many compliments everytime I wear it. Bronze watches are cool and the patina is fun to witness.

I have one on order. Just waiting for it. I have some bronze divers. Love how they patina. One of the best is a proxima unicorn . Their bronze case and patina is amazing. Also have the steel version of this one. Stunning dressy diver. Bought their dark meteorite dial dress watch. Stunner of a dial and watch. Quality watches!

Had this one for a few weeks now. It is a very stunning green bronze watch. The leather strap is very green, funky, and cool. But, I am wearing it on the rubber strap. The bronze case is already getting some nice patina. This one is a must have if you like bronze cases. Gorgeous watch for very little money.

That's a good question. Since patina is just oxidation of the bronze, as long as the coating covers it completely, I think it would.

The question I would have is whether this is only a watch for those looking for a bronze diver. Your review seems to suggest yes, because there is the 904L steel version with bracelet. I welcome the bracelet, but I initially thought it was the same as the one for the AD9, which I found to be too much even on that sports-dressy number. It is not, though, but I have yet to see reviews on it. For me, the funny thing is that I pre-ordered the AD15 and then recently ordered this AD8 in addition. I had previously admired the AD8 and AD7 series, but not bitten. A Wise had to happen at some point, but two at once surprised even myself (they're both still with them as I'm trying to figure out where to send them and how, life's a little complicated and my last experience importing even more so). It's funny they ended up commissioning reviews for these two simultaneously in the end. What happened? The AD15 is me wanting to experience Wise and my dressy inclination, so this felt special and a great way to celebrate the brand. Polished 904L steel makes sense on an overt dress watch and that gold dial ought to be interesting no matter what. This bronze diver broke two important lines I had previously drawn: 1. Don't buy another diver as after many years my one and only diver has just not grounded equally. 2. Don't buy bronze because you'll probably not appreciate the full-blown patina look. However, I saw the first review of this watch and my deep appreciation of the AD8 line changed into a desire to own one. This one. No date was an unexpected improvement (never minded the date). Fumé granulé textured dial looks fantastic (I enjoyed the original wavy pattern). No 904L steel (I enjoyed the strong polished lines of the original, but this warm bronze somehow makes it more inviting and the alternating finish does accentuate visual intrigue). I'm not a particular fan, so far, or rubber straps, but that green Wise just seems to belong. What's going on? I have set myself on a double adventure with a for me as yet unproven brand.

I don't think the 904 bracelts are made yet. I know they have been working on them for a while, so it's nice to see they are coming. I'm guessing they are going to be compatable with the new GMT, since the ship date is about the same.

I actually like the handset. I appreciate the effort to do something new. To me, it looks a bit art-deco. As far as whether or not it looks like a hot dog, this does not look like a hot dog to me. Even if it did, I would prefer to have an actual hot dog design than to see yet another mercedes handset. Literally _anything_ is better than mercedes hands at this point.

I actually quite like the hour hand. I have always preferred baton indices to round ones so maybe this is just that mindset extending to the hands as well. Its defiantly nice to see a unique attempt at making a brand identity hand set!

I wonder if Wise is working on a field watch? Kind of a neglected segment, especially in >40mm sizes. Hamiltons aren't great since they have anxiety inducing push-pull crowns, as well as poor lume and AR coating. Wise could knock it out of the park if they wanted to

You will have to forgive me, It's been a while so I'm not 100% sure of the context. Although i'm guessing I said something about "old radium" lume. Which often causes confusion. "old radium" is a color of luminous paint. Made to have that old faded look during the day.
