I've been playing since about 1963 and it's amazing that even now I can pick up some little something watching vids like this. If you're starting the blues, this is a GREAT shuffle to learn so practice it till yer fingers BLEED cos when you get this off, you're ON YOUR WAY! Great lesson, TB.

Hi John I recently signed up for a month. I consider myself and advanced player. I find some of your lessons to be challenging and the others, the simplistic basics are necessary to revisit like this lesson. It's easy to get bored with a basic shuffle. But your lesson is spot on. This is how you add zest to your playing. Youre a great guitar player and a better teacher. I look forward to your study when I return from my trip. Please, play on!

I like to add chisel outs to help spice up the hammer ons. This requires an extra hand in the early stages but it pays off with as little as an hour or two extra practice per day and in no time you will be doing the standard two handed chisel outs demonstrated at the end of this example. ( three handed begginers easy lessons are not included on this channel which is for the more advanced two or one handed players.)

Why do so many guitar instructors refuse to put tab on the screen as well, i just don't understand? I've spent about 30 minutes playing little parts of the video and rewinding a few seconds back over and over again, it drives me crazy! Guitar tab makes it SO much easier and quicker, plus people can then write it down in their tab books so they can then practice it again and again. PLEASE TAB!!!

I usually hate guitars and guitar playing because you never never the melody. Very few people can "pick" a guitar and most are used for the harmony, or back up music. You do make it sound interesting and your style sounds good.

Get the Mel Bay books, you'll be playing the melody line for a long time before you get to chords! The melody line is better left to vocals imo, although building a guitar solo around it is always nice.
