1. Sharing news of a book writing grant that I found just this morning at 9am, that closed at 1pm, and I got my application for it in! So, fingers crossed I’ll hear good news soon.
2. When I had to quickly pull together all the required materials for a book grant application within a very short timeframe of just 4 hours. This caused me significant stress and anxiety.
3. The importance of giving yourself adequate time when applying for grants or awards, ideally 4-6 weeks. It allows you to properly prepare a strong, well-rounded application.
4. Once you've gone through the process of applying for an award or grant the first time, it becomes easier to reuse and build upon that initial application in future submissions.
5. In the next video, I share 3 key things to include in a compelling awards or grant application, to help you submit your best possible entry.
6. Overall, it pays to be aware of relevant funding opportunities for authors, while also tending to the need for proper planning and preparation, when pursuing grants or awards.
