The inner frame work was made 1/4 x1 stainless tubing covered with an aluminum skin. I did a lot of the prints for the replica when it was in Downswiew. Spent a ton of hours over 7 years. Loved every minute of it. I went to Stayner last year for a visit and it brought back a lot of memories

Very interesting. One of those hidden treasures that are a joy to discover. Thanks for sharing!

I love the Arrow. This place is less than 90 minutes from me. Sounds like a motorcycle trip is in order.

I agree that scrapping the Arrows was a foolish, shortsighted move. The Arrow many never have been called upon to destroy "hordes of Soviet bombers" but it certainly would have been extremely useful in intercepting incursions of Canadian airspace.

They did a good job removing all the flash before assembly and the seams were made invisible too. Wonder how many sprues it arrived on. I bet it took at least 5.

I heard the seam line in the canopy was a chore to clean up.

This replica was built in Downsview. I volunteered to help build it. But they had enough personnel at the time.

The very same. It was moved to Edenvale in December of 2018 on a long, long trailer straight up Airport Road. It now has a permanent home at Edenvale, thanks to Mr. Milan Krupa, the airport's owner.

While I know nothing about construction of the replica, I do know that in my hand at the moment is a quite nice 1980, revised 1992, book Avro Arrow published by The Boston Mills Press and Stoddart Publishing, authored by "The Arrowheads".
