I think because there were the only groups in their companies and they promoted their hit songs "tell me + Lies" at the same time , plus both were new so since JYP and YG are friends, I'm sure they wanted to promote the two groups and made this great collaboration which is the best in Kpop history. For me, I don't care about the reasons , but I'm GLAD they collaborate with each other :)
