This was perhaps the greatest over bowled in ODI history if you look at the complete context. Hitting the pads of one of the greatest batsmen in history on 4 consecutive deliveries is no joke. He was lethal on flat wkts bcz he was quick in the air and got the surface out of the equation. He had a natural outswinger with the new ball, which helped pick wickets with the new ball. He did his best with the old ball, though

You saw it in the 2019 World Cup when Gayle was dismissed off what was supposed to be a free hit after vociferous appealing previously by the Australians. Waqar Younis got wrong decision in his favour at Perth 2000 against Tendulkar. These things happened in cricket without drs technology as on field umpire had to check for front foot no ball for every delivery, and then instantly look up and give due consideration to the appeal before making a decision in real time.. Well if you get so many chances to get set, you are obviously going to hammer the bowlers later on. And waqar was very hittable, because he was always pitching the ball up to get swing. If he got it wrong, he got hammered. But if the batsman got it wrong, he was gone, unless the umpire is blind

Tendulya was a vocal opponent of Playing cricket againt Pakistan and this meant he never faced probably the best bowling unit of his era. His test average was lowest against Pakistan. Its a shame as this imposter is known for his 90 odd runs against Pakistan in 2003 ODI WC but by that stage Pakistan's best bowlers were past their prime!
