Hezbollah has many times more rockets than Hamas, but it does not have heavy forces. With about 20,000 active and 30,000 reservists, many of its conventional forces are stationed in Syria. A withdrawal of these forces would destabilize the situation in Syria, which is not in Iran's interest. Therefore, it is difficult for Hezbollah to focus on Israel. Colonel (ret.) Wolfgang Richter believes that Hezbollah is currently only carrying out disruptive actions to put pressure on Israel and influence President Biden's peace plan.
