Gregor was the Clone Commando (teal visor Clone, like the ones you see in this episode) that was discovered by D Squad (the droid squadron) in the Clone Wars. He sacrificed himself by staying behind to let D Squad escape Later on, in Rebels, he’s one of the old Clones alongside Red and Wolffe

This episode explains why the Stormtroopers are so incompetent: the clones intentionally designed their training to make them worse at fighting.

Gonk droids are basically big walking batteries that recharge themselves, used to power up vehicles or equipment in the field. It's hilarious that this is one of the few times we see them actually used though despite being everywhere lol.

There are 2 returning characters in this episode. Gregor was the clone commando who fought with the droid squad and was blown up by rhydonium. Scorch is one of the main players in the Republic Commando video game and appeared in Clone Wars where he retrieved the bodies of fallen Jedi after Savage Opress killed them.

This is definitely my favorite episode, especially when the Bad Batch discovered the early stormtroopers, who are random people who signed up to become soldiers as part of Project War Mantle in replacing clones.

The clone commando in this episode was Scorch who is now canon to the series. He first appeared in the original Star Wars battlefront and helped Vader execute order 66 at the Jedi temple. In the clone wars series, he recovered to two Jedi who were killed by Maul’s brother savage Oppress.

As Surj pointed out the new armor isn’t quite stormtrooper yet. The design you see here is actually based off the original concept art for stormtrooper armor in the first movie back in the 70s

Clone Commandos, the ones with lit visors showed up in tcw once, and there's a game with them. One of the characters in that game was in this episode, the one who tanked the stun blasts.
