You need more workers. They are needed so you can expand fast enough to to keep up with the incoming enemies but you can't build too many or else you lose out on warrior production. It's a balancing act.

baron it costs 10 to put down a warrior ant , your worker then places a larvae once the larvae reaches maturity it hatches which costs one food. if you spend all your food on placing new warrior ants you wont have any food to hatch them. the best thing to do is keep the same amount of food as back up as how many warriors you have

the problem i see with this is the fact that you cannot split your troops. The map designers take advantage of the fact that you can't multitask with your warrior ants and create flanks. The only way you can win is by defending the queen until the final queen show itself and all the other enemies are killed

1. Instead of building massive rooms to store food, just build a food store right next to each food source. That way you can gather food more efficiently without requiring a huge number of workers. 2. In the early stages of the game, you don't need a huge food storage capacity. You should be using your food as fast as it comes in. 3. In the later stages when you're fighting battles, keep some extra food on hand. Dead ants will not be replaced unless you have food on hand. 4. Don't over-use pheromones. Pheromones will cause your ants to stream towards your enemy as they spawn. But a stream of ants is easily picked off by an oncoming army. Let your ants spawn gather around your queen and then send them at you enemy in waves. This should also help protect your queen against surprise attacks.

A have noticed tunneling seems to add a choke point for your ants, you opened up your queen in a large cavern and that's why the bugs destroyed your queen, just a tip, love this series btw

MORE!!!! Love this lets play Just a tip, make more workers because you werent able to bring in all that enemy larva with 13 workers. You would have been able to make a crap ton more soldiers if you had made more workers.

A little tip Baron, especially for the future, stop having the area next to your queen so open. Have tunnels that wrap around and that gives the enemy more walking distance to your queen, so even if you get ambushed, they have to walk a long ways around just to get to her, while in the meantime they're sure to run into a bunch of workers/soldiers on the way. Make the most direct entrances to your queens nest soldier ant production areas, so you have a bunch of them spawned and ready to go on either side at any time. All that open space next to your queen makes me sad for her T_T

You probably wont see this, but I have a suggestion for choke point vs open rooms to fight in. Which one you want depends on your enemy's numbers. You tend to have a significantly larger attack force, and as such you want an open area so that more of them can fight at the same time, and increase your army's dps. If the enemy has a larger attack force, you want to choke them so only a few can fight at a time, and decreases their number advantage. Enjoy the gameplay, cheers.

The way you lost your Queen, you should have used your troops to clean out those worms in the Top Left and Bottom Left and it would also give you food from there dead bodies. If you had done that you would not have been ambushed and lost your queen. Also you could have put the Ant pheromone on your Queen or close to it sure your soldiers would split but with the number you had it would not have mattered to much.

O yea, just so you know and I hope you read this Baron, the Barrack you had to the right side of your base was closed of from your Food Stockpile, so every time you lost a soldier your workers needed to walk around to get to the barracks to use some food to pop a new larva. Also if you just opened 1 hole in that wall it would have limited the amount of walking around so your troops would reinforce quicker, and it could be useful depending on the situation,.

you need a natural set of choke and swarm points in alternating pattern focus on maxing worker numbers while maintaining large warrior numbers and keep choke points near the queen; no large areas near the queen in case your numbers get whittled down no matter the building cost. also make it a labyrinth with twists and turns so your forces can be favored if your numbers are whittled down but also keep smallish rooms if they have small numbers

Tried the game... a few pointers! 1: Food is used to spawn new ants. 2: The warrior/worker areas increase the max population by 1, but does not give you these ants until food is available for spawning. 3: So far I haven't meet any enemy worker ants, so you can cheat and build food storage close to pickup to rapidly increase food accumulation. Constructing a place for larvae needs food and that larva needs food to grow into an ant. So you need to keep in mind that the total cost is >10

on bigger levels like that it is beneficial to have lots of workers with a decent amount of soldiers, also soldiers cost 10 food to plant 1 food to upkeep, workers cost 5 to plant and 1 to upkeep and food storage costs 0 to plant and 0 to upkeep., so multiple food storage can be good, keep them close to spawning spots. i.e. soldiers and food, or workers and food.

The black ants respawn because there are food. Every time you start to say "reinforce" and start building nests, you are 0 ing your food supply, and cut your own support. Every black ant costs 1 food.

I've gone through some tests in this game, so far twenty workers are a suggested minimum, twenty soldier ants are enough to finish the first level/mission and I think it was thirty soldier ants to at least be able to get by in this one, though forty should do it for when you reach the second queen. I'd also highly suggest that you don't have multiple access points to your queen, the result is as you saw, and if you haven't realized, food storage is food storage, you can build them in a cavern filled with food and it'll be a way to store the food quickly. Well, at least that's what it should be, I never tested food storage, just how many soldier ants you need to finish a level.

Looks like I don't have to post again about choke points, but keep it in mind all the same (see comment in part 1). I'll leave you with a few tips: I've noticed that while it takes like 10 food to make larva it costs 1 food to actually hatch it, no food no new ants. I suggest keeping worker numbers low, it might slow production but it allows for more warriors. Also, I'd eliminate the devil whatevers first before going after the ants or before they attack your queen. Also, because you are fighting ants, remember that they can dig just as fast as you can, so if you get too close, even if you're seperated by a wall they will attack you. And finally, eliminate the enemy ant groups BEFORE attacking the queens. The moment you attacked that last queen EVERY ANT IN THE COLONY rushed to its defense. The same happened with the first queen as well, but you were lucky you killed off most of that queen's ants before that.

Baron -- you are overthinking with your "food room" planning. Just create the food stores where right where the food are ... that way your worker ants don't have to travel back and forth and thus you'll save much more time.

Nope, they are not earwigs, devil's coach horse beetles are... beetles. They belong to the Staphylinidae family, in the coleoptera order. Earwigs belong to a totally different order. They do look similar though, but are quite distant taxonomically.

Baron... you keep building ant production no matter how much you have. this is an RTS, while some production buildings are good to have a lot of there is always a maximum amount you can have before it hurts your production due to resource cost. You need a primary storage vault of food to build more cheap workers from your expensive production facilities.
