Its just faster by 2 knots over a merchant ship ----- however the Queen Elizabeth class battleships were about as - about as - about as SLOW at a max of 24 knots.

The most amazing battle yet! I knew when I saw that CV at the end of the last one we were in for a treat. Those brave boys on the Livermore will never be forgotten, with the Colorado so low on ammo it was then only way to take the Kongo out of the fight.

I served on a gearing class destroyer which was commissioned in 1944, they were a lot like the Fletcher but had more guns. It's fun to watch the action. Never take a tin can for garnet they sting hard.

The Kongo class are basically still battlecruisers. The armor upgrade they got wasn't enough to even adequately protect against what _cruisers_ were firing at the time and whenever they went up against something that could actually land hits on them (they _were_ rather quick for their size) they suffered badly.

ENTERPRISE!!! GOOD OL' BIG E!! CV-6!! THE GREATEST OF THEM ALL!!! Second most decorated ship in US history, right after Ironsides herself! She had an incredible service record and even received commendations from the Royal Navy! She was in almost every major carrier action of the war, and was at times the only operational US carrier in the pacific. Her crushing defeat of the IJN alongside her sister ships Hornet and Yorktown will forever be remembered as the finest hour of the USN. I fell in love with her while playing battlestations pacific as a young lad. She's my favorite carrier and an American hero, so treat her well Wolf! I'll be watching from the sidelines and cheering you on!

Christmas came early! A second episode in 2 days! And at the cost of one DD and 7 aircraft, you sank almost the entire fleet! I'd take that any day. Maybe you could use some command points to buy an ammo ship to UNREP your task forces. It would be nice to have units swing out of battle to reload and do some repairs. 2 fights in this LP have really grabbed me. The very first surface action in this LP (where you lost 3 destroyers sunk) along with this fight where Kongo is sunk. Really tough surface fights, totally re-creating the desperate fights IRL.

tbf irl, most naval commanders would have called off a landing if it was confirmed that a large enemy surface force was inbound, the only reason one wouldnt in this game is because landing troops/supplies is instantaneous unlike irl

Great battle Wolfpack, I really enjoyed watching it. Ammo managment in a heavy engagement like that can be pretty challenging. Especially when you start taking damage. Conservation tends to fly out the window in favor of survival.

What happened to Colorado in this fight is what happened to South Dakota in the 15 November 1942 battle at Guadalcanal. Her upper works were shredded by Japanese small caliber fire, and one hit on turret 3 by Kirishima. They rendered her combat ineffective without sinking her.

I must agree with the consensus of pretty much everybody else...The Colorado is only fast matched up with a sailboat and the Kongo must of had battleship sized floaties. Damage ultra-critical and flooding ridiculously critical. Heck it took more hits than a speed bag in boxing!

WOW everything you could want in a battle - okay we didn't have search lights but what a battle - few p38s but they have 20 mm cannons and can do more damage than the .50 cal on the fighters. They have sunk merchant ships by themselves in my little TTE.

it is just a hypothesis but i think the kongo class battleship was the same that attack Australia or the airport next to Australia. The AI did not get it repaired and just brushed off the damage it has taken from the previous air raids. That is why it was easily taken out of the battle. Correct me if i am wrong.

the Japanese heavy cruisers definitely gave colorado a beating. not surprising given the fact most IJN Heavy cruisers could give older battleships a rough time given the chance. loving the series do far, convinced me to possibly buy the game and get the mod first.

31:43 That's a Chitose-class CVL, not a Taiyo-class CVE. Pretty inaccurate too, seeing as how the Chitose-class seaplane carriers didn't even begin conversion to CVLs until January 1943, and they didn't reenter service until December of that year.

I’m not sure if the bombs on zeros is just with this mod but I think it is breaking immersion somewhat, those zeros left the battlefield as if they were bombers, the carrier was in a fight for its life and the vanilla ai would normally be swarming the fighters, to protect it
