2:43 the helicopters are on a branch of there own it goes Tanks, Aviation, Helicopters then the 2 Ship classes. You will see them on the top of the tech tree across the top starting from the left to the right. You need to purchase vehicles of rank 5 to be able to get to them and purchase them. But im pretty sure if you have bought a rank 5 or higher premium vehicle the Helicopter tree opens up for you.

Little trick: You can try out vehicles you don't have by going to the tech tree and right clicking any vehicle that is not highlighted in red and pressing "test ___". Even the premium ones! Sure, you only face AI, but it's also an opportunity to have fun stomping someone and also to find out which planes you wanna work towards.

Um, that AI doesn't shoot. The tanks are static targets, except for 1 driving around.

2:53 Helicopters are in their own tree, you can unlock them once you've reached I believe Rank 4 vehicles in either tanks, ships, or planes. Not every nation has helicopters yet.

It's been awhile since the last time I played War Thunder, but you can get snow maps on low tiers, however it depends (or at least used to) on what country you are playing as.

Naval combat in War Thunder is very rare cuz the of the battleships cost a lot of silver lions but the boats are not.

The Calliope is indeed pretty cool, but it's one of the most expensive premium tanks in the American Tech Tree. Best get it when the anniversary sales come around, cause premiums usually are 50% off then.

You should check out the fan teaser trailers for war thunder, especially the ones by Pandramodo, they're absolute masterpieces that dont get enough attention imo. Some recommendations id make are his "Red Skies," "Winged Lions," and "Wind of Change" trailers.

Helicopters have their own tree and unlockable after reaching Rank V i think, but please dont bother with it since the grind is god awful

@@bob6910 from what I head the rewards are bad, but honestly that does not matter to me simply because PvE allows for more consistent earnings. I'd like at least decent awards but i'll settle for something that isn't at risk of being KA-50'd

@@ChicagoReacts The core of the game itself is probably one of the best to ever exist, it really activate the neurons looking at that "Target Destroyed" every now and then, its just that Gaijin is a really shitty company. All I can say as someone with 4370 (as of right now) hours of pain and suffering, take your time at lower BR, there is no need to rush and always remember, high grounds wins :D

@@AHappyCub except if you are like me and play Russia, then high ground is a death sentence because none of the vehicle in the tree have any gun depression, meanwhile most of the things you face can probably burry their gun in the ground if they wanted. As starting nation I would highly recommend either the US or Germany, because they are the most consistent across all tiers and have well rounded vehicles.

Thats some old video you guys are watching because War Thunder has no Chat in battles anymore do to the War in Ukraine. Also at around 6:54 you say you dont have premium thats why you havent got snow maps but premium doesnt mean a thing besides it gives you more research RP(research points) to vehicles you play and you get more SL(silver lions) But anyone who plays this game ALL get the same exact maps. Maybe you havent played enough but everyone gets snow covered maps. Maybe you got low BR tanks. So anyways BR is the number next to the tank or plane for example pull up the russian tech tree of tanks and look at the KV-1 (L-11) and bottom right hand corner it says 3.7 and thats the BR and that would be what you want all you tanks to be close in for your line up. Because if you had say a Object 120 thats a BR 7.3 and then you put in the line up a BR-7 of BR 1.3 you will end up in a HIgh tier game of 7.3 or a lil higher and to a 6.3 low and that low BR tank will be useless pretty much. So you would want to make your tank line to be all around or close to the same BR. But all that info is in the WT wiki and that is a great place for all the info anyone would ever need to know. That level of Air combat isnt all its cracked up to be cause its all just Air to air missiles and if you didnt research the Flares ( counter measures then your dead meat with not even a chance. But honestly the more you play the more you learn in WT so good luck and watch up on the game here on youtube and you can learn a bit. Playing Naval there is bots they throw them in there cause no one really plays naval and specially when you first stat WT low BR ships are bad and the set up sux for them plus you prolly got a few seal clubbers in there as well

Haven't played War Thunder in a while. The gameplay is fantastic and the portrayal of so many historic vehicles is phenomenal if you have even the slightest interest in them, but the grind and balancing problems in the higher tiers really took me out of it. Might return when I get more time though. Remember tier 3-5 being really fun.
