A fellow F Mk.IX enjoyer, I see. The Mk.IX in general manifests the best of both worlds (Early Merlins and Late Griffons), and arguably is the best Spitfire variant (most RAF fighter pilots hold this opinion, too!)

started to try this game out with a Quest 2. Shooting stuff down is not easy at all in full 1st person mode. Reminded me of my old IL2 days with head tracking lol

When I'm using 7.7mms I load mine with stealth ammo. It gives you a large amount of incendiaries, which are your best shot of doing crippling damage. Stealth, however, as the name suggests, lacks any tracers so for a beginner it can be hard to lock in the muscle memory required. No matter what you're using, aim for the centre of the plane, specifically engine, pilot, or fuel tanks. Hit anything else and you're essentially doing nothing

More seriously though I don't grind warthunder anymore. I fly spitfire's because they're the planes that interest me the most. I've always been a fan of the mid-early war planes. Thank god. I can't imagine loving the f-16 and grinding through to it
