Their Cold War Russian Tanks and locally developed Type 96 can't do hull down very well, their Cold War American Tanks has tumor problem, the only decent tank in BR10.0/BR9.7 is the CM11. CM11 is basically soft skin version Challenger 1 with faster reload speed and equipped with the most powerful L7 gun in the game.

Maybe you can do map analysis. You don't see much of those and can be extremely helpful. Positions, flanking routes, hidden spots, tactics, commonly taken roads, rating, maybe a little bit of how a map might have changed throughout war thunder history for the older maps for fun, etc.

It might be because I played too much (and only) british tanks, but I'm getting used to their playstyle to the point I don't even notice their weaknesses. The british tree just got me used to not rely on my armour and my gun damage, and that forced me to learn to shoot first and aim for weakspots/crewmembers. And I believe that helped me alot at top tier.

If you're an American player who wants to get into Britain, just play the 76mm Shermans. The guns are useless, there's no armor, and mobility is meh. It'll make the Brits look like every tank is a top tier MBT. It's also good training for Japan and France lowtier, as well as the T-34E STZ.

Not everyone is as comprehensive as you are and, from experience following your recommendations, I trust what you have to say at least as much as anyone, if not more. Cheers. Oh, if there’s one thing there aren’t enough of it’s tactical detail on maps, types of playstyles and which type (individual vehicle examples are fine, but most styles work with multiple vehicles) of vehicle for each situation. I know it’s not possible to cover everything but the snippets I get from your tier reviews have been very helpful.

I would love to see Nippons or Frenchies next. Definitely not one of the "Big 3", since most people already are deep into those tech trees or know those tanks. In my opinion, it would be best to do the smaller nations first, not only because they are way less played so you would help get more people to play them, but also because you could make videos on them quicker since they have fewer vehicles than the Big 3, so those of us interested in playing these smaller nations don't have to wait a full year for you to review every single vehicle in these trees, which have almost 100 vehicles each.

Also when going off-road, try using Manual Transmission when using the Challenger 2. You'd be surprise how fast it can be, or how it'll be able to keep up with the abrams or at least stay close to it. I've had many times the enemies get a nasty surprise that my Challenger 2 managed to rush the right flanks of maginot line for example. It's a rapist disguised as a harmless boy.

Great video as always! Bummed by mk. 7's 3-round ready rack. Hopefully this is a bug and will be corrected as soon as new sekrit documints are found. With their 1400 m/s velocity Starstreaks are not suitable for shooting down aircraft flying close by. I've got the Stormer, have it crewed but haven't used it once. I always have the Marksman as a backup.

Im sad to say I went for the stormer over the chally 2 and goddamn do i regret it. Got both now, but the stormer provided literally no benefit over the marksman other than shooting down the occasional stationary helo right in front of the team that the ADATS are too retarded to shoot down. When I do land on target with enemy helo's, the darts just phase right through, literally spread apart and fly around the target, or just hit and only hit, not even a crit. Even planes flying slow straight at me, the radar thinks they're pulling all over the place. And if you do hit the plane, you need 3/4 streaks to actually do some worthy damage to the plane because they have the same issues as helo's. Your better off just using the radar to find the target than manually tracking the target to hit. In fact, your probably better being the radar coordinator for a flock of chieftain marksman's (their radars turned off) since arad missiles are a thing and they dont track stormer. Now are these issues ping related, oh shit yer. But does that change how brokenly useless the stormer is, nope

I think you forgot the chally 2s internal anti spalling armor aswell as the fact that ammo and charges rarely cook off at all. I took alot of t80 shells in my lfp and survived with only my driver dying.

You missed the Swift F7 for CAS. Not sure how known it is but its 'radar guided' missiles are amazing for taking out ground vehicles from several km away, often not even needing a direct hit. It will probably get fixed soon though.

I think that once they fix the Challengers (they're lots of problems) we could get one of these. Chally 2e: 1. 1500hp engine 2. Thermal for TC, and thermal quality just as good as 2a5 or m1a2 or Leclerc. Chally 2 smoothbore 1. Smoothbore 2. No other reason, dm53 would be enough But first they need to fix Chally 1: 1. Hydrogas suspension 2. Gib mk3 l26 3. Wet bins Chally 2: 1. Hydrogas suspension 2. L30A1 (the current l30 has identical performance to the l11a5 on the chieftain an chally 1) 3.armor fixes, this imcludes a. Manlet fix b. Side turret is half what it should be c. Ufp is missing 50mm of armor d. armored fuel tanks don't work 4. Fires kill it twice as fast and artillary will kill it from a great distance. Again fix fuel tanks. 5. Gun handling sucks, fix it 6. Armored wet ammo bins that prevent a cook off. No. 6 alone would make the Chally way more competitive as a lfp shot wouldn't instakill it, making it a lot more formidable and difficult to approach.

I'll enjoy both more of these (for another nation, obviously) or shorter reviews for individual tanks, either way. These videos are really helping me plan out what I want to do in War Thunder as a whole, knowing which tiers have good or fun vehicles and such. I currently have several British lineups that I've grown to love and I've even started working on Italy a little bit. Also, if you do end up doing Germany next, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the absolute mess of different guns at different tiers and how effective they are. Germany's gun advantage has never made a lot of sense at the battle ratings they have. The 3.0 pak wagon and 3.3 F2 still baffle me to this day, especially having been fully up-tiered very often in both British 2.3 and 2.7.

@@aussiemilitant4486 Yes, both of those vehicles can be killed by a 2-pdr. However, when you're playing something like the Matilda which is supposed to be a heavy tank designed to absorb shots, fighting a tank which can punch through any part of your armor no problem is not enjoyable, especially when you have no other advantage. The Crusaders are some of the more versatile tanks in Tier I and can deal with anything all the way through Tier II. They're easily capable of dealing with up-tiers thanks to other advantages they have, not so much with their heavier counterparts, the Matilda and the Valentine. Americans have their own problems with German guns too, of course, Russians as well. Makes captured vehicles in the German tree much more lucrative simply due to the fact that you don't have to fight Germans.

@@ODST_Parker Its only due to the Matilda having no real place in game as it is at a disadvantage due to the doctrine to which it was designed. The Valentines are atleast a bit more mobile and having better guns but still very British in its mobility. The Matilda cant really handle uptiers, its one of those special tanks that should have its MM changed to never be fully uptiered, some tanks require a +/- .3 BR MM. But that is something that Gaijin would never do, they have zero foresight for balancing tanks. Sure the Germans have some very good lineups, but they are far from my favorites, as the gameplay is too braindead. This is why it is healthier to have a 'no favorite nation' policy in WT, it removes personal bias and gives you better perspective of things.

@@aussiemilitant4486 You have no idea how much I want up-tiers to be limited to +/- 0.3 instead of +/- 1.0, but it'll never happen. They're blind, and they believe every tier is balanced despite clear evidence to the contrary in more cases than I can count. But yeah, you're right, Germans aren't always the clear best and it is better to have a selection of lineups from multiple nations. My favorites will always be the big four, America, Britain, Russia, and Germany. I'm starting on Italy a bit now, and it's fun too. Overall, I just wish they'd stop being so damn stubborn and realize that balance is still a major issue that needs to be addressed. It doesn't help that so many people who play the game are on their side, and all they say in response to people like me is some variation of "get good"

I honestly had the most fun grinding the French line and with alot of the subsequent BR changes to many French vehicles, it has made many lineups quite lacking due to not having enough vehicle per BR. But on the overall many of the French vehicles are very strong and versatile.

Hilarious how Britain get cucked so hard by Gaijin. British vehicles have not lost a conflict in over a hundred years. The closest call would be the Israel vs Syria conflict with Centurion vs T-54/55/62 but that’s it. British vehicles have shown countless times how robust and all around fantastic they are in combat. Meanwhile Russian vehicles have pretty much lost every conflict since WW2 but they’re god tier in the game.

I've had Stormer one shot my Leo 2A5 through an Arrow head armor, twice. In other words, 2A5's turret doesn't function properly. An Arrow head design should trap a modern projectile inside where it will be shattered on main armour, rather then diverting every single god damn shot downwards into hull ending up in a catastrophic damage to the vehicle. Sometimes I feel you can throw a potato, or tomato on 2A5 and it explodes. I do way better in 2A4 since I don't rely on armour that doesn't work. Good content though.

Challenger 2 still needs an actual mantlet. It currently makes no sense. It's proper suspension and regenerative steering would help too. And it's got the worst top tier ammo, so CHARM needs to be added. The CVR(T) chassis is too slow too. It should be faster than any top tier MBT, as it holds the record to this day as fastest production tank. It's one of the most annoying things about playing Britain. Most of our stuff top tier is broken in some way, and Gaijin seem averse to adding scouts. Overall, Britain isn't as capable as other nations, but British players generally know how to get the most out of their tanks, and when played right, the tanks are deadly. It's a nation that requires patience. And you need to accept that with things like no AA, you're going to have some frustrating deaths. And the best top tier CAS is the Meteor Reaper. Get's the 4X 1000lb bombs, and a cheap repair cost, so no worries if you're killed.

A few comments regarding the Challenger 2: - Turret cheeks are bugged. the damage model of the turret is treated as being locked forwards, this means that if you've got the turret pointed 90 degrees to the side, and an enemy attacks you from that side, he can penetrate your turret with extreme ease as it is counted as being side armour, dispite you VISUALLY showing your front armour, example here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKS5e5yol6eYpLc - The armour is quite poor, the areas that are 'weakspots' together make up more than the area that is properly armoured, there is simply no reason to ever pick a Challenger 2 over a Leopard 2A5 or M1A2. - Sticking with the topic of poor armour: The mantlet is now quite a bit wider as a weakspot than it was on the Challenger 1, this means that the gunner/commander/loader are far more susceptible to getting killed via shots striking the mantlet, in essence, the Challenger 2 is worse at hull-down than the Challenger 1's are when it comes to taking punishment. - I disagree that the Challenger 2 is significantly more effective than the Challenger 1's, the only practical advantage it holds is it's added penetration that L26 offers, all of the other aspects are either similar, or in some cases worse, such as the mobility (Challenger 1 Mk2 is still the quicker vehicle). Yes, the Challenger 2 offers superior hull armour, however, if you ever have to rely on said hull armour advantage, you're already screwed as it's still incredibly inconsistent, and won't pose any trouble to anyone who has the most basic knowledge of aiming/weakspots. - I also disagree that the Challenger 2 excells over others in a defensive niche, again, the Leopard 2A5 and M1A2 offer everything the Challenger 2 does, only better. The Leopard 2A5 especially offers much greater hull-down protection as it's breech weakspot is far more narrow, and unlike the Challenger 2, it's turret roof isn't a giant weakspot.

Taking 20 rounds in a test drive and all the ammo is in the front of the hull (charges and warheads), and the rear of the turret is completely empty, for both the standard and 2F variants, so is there any point in taking limited ammo? And this is a more minor complaint but on the 2F the charges and one of the darts are misaligned with the racks in x-ray, and the rounds in the hull are ambiguous instead of being darts. Edit: rearranged into major and minor gripes

it's a good idea to release quick reviews of single vehicles, premium or not. Patch review videos are also not a bad idea. There's definitely a lot of room for you to diversify your video style if you decide to do so.

We have the Vickers swinging in at 9.7 and it was heralded (in Gaijins own release note) as a stepping stone up from the Challie to the Challie 2. In which case, should not the two Challies drop to 9.3? Makes sense to me. Why would you want to play the Challies when there's the Vickers sitting there looking at you?
