Ah, yet another video with absolutely amazing results! So, I have noticed that the HE shells can be a bit finnicky, yet it seems that they can pen the front of most tanks. Why then do you aim for the cupola when there is a higher chance of missing? Is it just because of the weaker top armor, and if so wouldn't shooting it anywhere over the top of a compartment cause overpressure still?

The top of the tank's armor is typical the thinnest and you can kill a lot more crew that way. Typical the school of thought when firing HE goes three ways. Aim under the tank and try to get through the bottom plate, hit the front of the turret, and try to rain down shrapnel through the top of the hull, or if you can the commander's hatch can lead to some beautiful results on those hard to kill buggers like the panther. If I was to smack that against its front plate it would giggle and drive off.
