In this series we explore what luck can do for you in War Thunder, sometimes it can make all the difference in this otherwise very skillbased game.
Today its time to fly out the Bf 109 G-14/AS in a Realistic Battle. It has been in the game, and it sits at br 5.0. The Bf 109 G-14 has been a unique fighter in history. I flew out a few matches the other night, lets see how it went. Hope you enjoy :)

Jengar I'm avarage player but there is one battle I'm proud of. It was Hokkaido in Spitfire F IX and it went wrong in the beginning, I lost half of ammo in fight with p38. I can't aim and I was pissed of so i chanced him to the ground. I saw how all my buddies died quick and I was alone vs 5 enemies in low alt. I only wat to finish this P38 and die quick, cause enemies want be bad. And somehow i shot P38 and all of them too, half of them crashed from damages, one compressed from dive. It was fantastic battle, I was crited, had 3 min of fuel and 100 rounds of 7.7 and I survived. Never give up guys :)

+Jengar i am _finally_ working on spading this plane, boss! it is a beauty, but unfortunately i think the engine isn't quite as good as the now improved G-14 in the German tree :-(... i've only flown it once but i've put my convergence out to 600m and i'm now working on trying to get my aim on target so i can spade this bad boy :) :D. i flew the P-47D premium in the German tree earlier and my aim is dead on with the M2 .50 cals but with the MG-151s and the Breda 12.7mm or MG-131s i'm just _not_ having much luck unfortunately :( however, i'm implementing what you said yesterday to me, sir - leading more with the weapons so i hope that will make a difference! thanks for such a great video!

Great little plane by the looks of it. That first game is a real doodie, I loved it!! I aint got to this one yet, I've been neglecting the Ital tree really, had a lot of skinning to do for competitions and stuff. Thanks for the vid anyway mate.

I thought G55s were excellent. But this baby is just great, definitely a highlight of the Italian tree. Of course, G56 is a beast too. You say Italian planes are not OP. Maybe not, but almost the whole fighter tree is "very enjoyable".

I find 85% of the fighters very enjoyable, i rate them pretty close together though. there's not a huge difference in my optnion on these planes.

I totally agree with your comment on fighting heavily stacked odds jengar watching your comebacks inspired me to give up that practice of landing and j out even in bombers I take off and attempt to keep fighting not only does it give you more lions and rp if you get a kill or two or drop a bomb or two and do some damage to them but if also helps the enemies get some sl and rp for shooting you down and I'm not against that we are all a community of players who play the game because we enjoy it

I don't have the engine modifications yet on this 109 but it's already a savage fighter to me. Iam not the best pilot out there but it gives me good results being that competition is very tight on War Thunder these days. This 109 turned out to be one of my favorite top fighters being that Iam best when I use 109's. Iam been best at using the Bf 109 F-4. Maybe this Italian 109 will surpass my kill ratio of my 109 F-4. Thanks for yet another great review! I spaded this plane in AB and struggled with it in AB. Felt really 'heavy' almost like it has an RB flight model (it won't have but that is what it felt like). The armament is phenomenal once you get the 30's. Looks like a plane that is more suited to RB????? Sure is a beautiful looking plane though. Love the 109s.

i recently got the romainian G-2 in the discount bundle, its a real joy to fly, im sitting on a 8 KDR with it atm, if the italian G14 is anything like the G-2 i really need to get the italian planes soon!

there have been no patchnotes on it, so im not exactly sure when in this patch it happened. But the 50 cals arnt the same as they were right after the major buff at the start of patch 1.69.

I thought G2 is the most maneuverable of all Gs (I've never played G6, G14 though as I see no point in that, I never take gunpods and everything else is the same or worse). But F is still better.

You should definitely try it, its a lot of fun, can carry 30´s and extra 20´s and 30´s, lots of options, although i would never put the pods on it in rb

I hated this plane until I put the 20mm outboards on it. Only then, was I able to actually kill something.

Great fight especialy firs game on this map it is a sin not to go after a enemy eaven if you are last man stending. Frenckly i em suprised that bombers survive that long to win a game.

As for pugnacity i'm a pragmatist : i never let go a match in a spaded plane but stock having to take off and fight 5+ fighters no i dont. Special case for very expensive planes to repair like 40k plus. I do care about coming back alive... which makes me honorary scottish i suppose. Also taken into account is the composition of my team, level of confidence in the plane as i'm not good in all of them but barely competent in many. Level of my own stupidity counts too as i tend to have bad days and do the unfathomable (tail gating, going low at start...you name it i have done it). One thing i've noticed is that by staying in the match your level confidence is slow going up simply by accepting your fate, the other tends to get overconfident and greedy... which leads to their doom with a bit of luck. (first time i met you was on Norway, you in a F4u1C low and alone against three of us, at the end one of us was swimming in the sea and i shot you down after 3 passes).

Hi I wanted to ask you if you could give some tips. I play Arcade mode (until now) and my best 109s are the F4s and a stock G2. I usually get between 2000 and 12000 silver lions. How the hell are you getting over 50000? What am I doing wrong? I'd love to get a response :)

Call me dummy but I never use the Lion Bonus for Silver Lions simply because I do not understand how they work. I think the descriptions for them are lacking so I am unsure what the goals are and as I do not have many successful matches at best 1 kill before I give away my life making these wager awards I think a pure giveaway because I am just not very good at the game.

There really are no 'goals' for a booster unless you activate a Golden Eagle or Silver Lion wager, then you follow the objective for however many games the wager says and as you complete the objective, you will move up the rewards bracket until you either complete the wager or fail 3 missions. Word of advice for the Boosters; activate them when you're ground pounding in a premium bomber (with or without Premium bonus) you can get a hefty sum of Lions or RP that way.

Don't worry, it's not all that terrible. I read a Steam guide on how to use wagers effectively, which is to use the first Pe-3 in Arcade Battles. It is Rank 3 at a battle rating of 2.3, so it won't face much more powerful opposition and is capable of facing biplanes
