Jengar it's actually 1000 x2 for the two MG17 above the engine and only 500 x2 for the MG17 in the wings. So 2000 of the rounds are used by two of the Guns while the last 1000 is used by the wing guns. It isn't evenly distributed.

@@saurabhsingh5528 Ammunition. 20mm's don't last you long. Definitely if you're talking about the E-3, E-4 and E-7. Let alone the the F-1. I often tell people. My dream BF109 is a BF109F-2 15mm MG151 variant but with 2 additional MG13s mounted in the wings similar to how Adolf Galland added 20mm cannons to his F series. 4x 7.9mm MGs combined with a single 15mm MG for more armored planes being the AP Incendiary rounds on the 15mm MG151 is pretty good vs everything including light armor, let alone aircraft. You'd be surprised how effective these weapons are vs lower tier enemies. People forget just how fast those 7.9mm MGs fire.

I love using the Bf-109 E-1 because it's a very low B.R and it's a little more easier to use than the E-3 and E-4.

It's a clubber. EXcept of course when it meets Chaika UFO's. Then it's a deader. It overheats like crazy. With MEC, I have both radiators open, prop at 60%, obviously no WEP, and it overheats..... in tropical Norway LOL.

I am guilty of hardly ever going down to the lower tiers to play. This is silly because, when I do go there it is where I have the most fun. I am happy to report that as of yesterday, I now own every plane on the British regular tree. Only took 5 years.

Nice one, I love flying the British too I am more of a hurricane and typhoon fan, but the spitfires is glorious also. Bloody Firefly FR Mk V absolutely destroys in Ground Battles. But I'd say most fun to be had has to be 2.0-5.3 imo 2.0-3.5 has to be the absolute fun zone though.

This is my favourite plane. Great climb rate and energy retention for 2.3! I prefer having 4 mg over 2/2 mg/cnn because of ammo issues. Most players at 2.3 are clueless however, so the fights are... Interesting aha

I made the switch to RB about a month ago and have been flying the E1 extensively - for me it’s the perfect aircraft. Personal best is 6-0 in a match against Russians. Regularly get 4 or 5 kills in this. Making the transition from AB to RB has been enormously helped by this little beast - close to 200 kills in this so far. 2:1 KDR so far but that is rapidly improving as I learn more about RB and become a better pilot. It is a beautiful plane to fly in terms of speed, energy retention and climb. Judicious use of flap and rudder control can make the E1 dance. The x4 mgs are more than sufficient to light up enemies. Generally I don’t open up my guns until at least 300m. A 2 second burst with Universal Rounds is generally enough to do the trick. I practice the “butcher bird” technique - climb to 4500m, circle above a cluster of enemy fighters (aka “the perch”) then swoop down, kill and climb using it’s amazing energy retention. One of the best defensive tactics is the shallow dives from slower biplanes or turn fighters: extend to about 1.5km, climb a little, 180 turn and swoop back down on them. It’s a joy to fly. There’s only four enemies that give me pause: Spitfire Mk1a and 1b, early Hurricanes, The Buffalo and the P-36/H-75. However I’ve found you can easily negate their turning advantage by establishing altitude at the very start of the match and being disciplined about aintaining energy advantage. If up-tiered the P-40 is possibly the only plane to be truly wary of. I’ve learnt that Spitfire and Hurricane pilots will predictably try and turn inside your turning circle of you’ve got altitude advantage. They expect you to overshoot them. I’ve found a variation of the chandelle (180 turn with a vertical climb) is a great tactic: as my nose goes up I drop power and apply combat flaps and rudder. I can then position myself for a good deflection shot.

Slight correction... you have 1000 rounds per gun for the cowling mounted MG 17's(like in every other Bf 109 that has them) and 500 rounds per gun for the wing mounted machineguns. :)

Hey Jengar! I love your videos and they've helped alot. If I could make a suggestion in the future: You mention the stats of the the planes but you only seem to use words to describe them like decent or bad. It's not bad but it would be better if you provided some numbers or compared them with other planes at that BR. This way people would know how planes work against each other and that knowledge is really important in fights. Keep up the good work and you're so close to 10K!!!

It doesn't have to be complicated with exact tested numbers and the like. Even I don't pay attention to each planes numbers, I just have a relative scale that ranks the planes based on their abilities. Anything that tells us how the planes rank up with the others at their BR in terms of something like energy retention would be great. :)

I like using these early 109's when the daily task is for tier 2-4. Even the 1.7 one is pretty fun (arcade). Its easier to knock out the task at a level where nobody knows what's going on. I remember i used to think the early 109's were trash....back when I myself didn't know wtf was going on, haha!

Jengar ya but you can usually tell who they are because they're usually the only ones to climb at the beginning of a round (arcade). Lets you know which threats to address 1st. Easy pickins after that.

I am genuinely surprised that no one attempted to TK you after that unintentional kill on the Hawk. Time after time I accidentally get a kill after plinking someone with a single bullet when another player should have been awarded it, and more often than not I get targeted for a TK, being accused of kill stealing.

yesterday I had an ace in air rb for the first time after a year of playing War Thunder in this plane this plane is fuckin' awesome at its br and it can provide very good learning curve on how to energy fight. definitely recommended for someone like me who just got into the art of energy fighting also Jengar can you do a video on the He-100 D-1? Absolutely love this war bird in game and real life. It's absolutely dicks everything at its battle rating, first time I flew out in at after unlocking it I got 3 kills and 2 assists in RB. I must admit although I fly British, I watch phlydaily, botimegaming and magztv so I got a better understanding of the game mode and this particular model of plane. So I knew the tactics and the do's and don'ts. Being my first fly out, she is an absolute babe to those who have no experience flying Bf 109 I know you have the one before it that dicks too but this one I find, to be one of my gems. Feel like I'm seal clubbing in this thing and it doesn't even have freaking cannons, where this beast is flying... You don't need them... Absolutely shreds everything that comes in its path with those MGs

I actually prefer the MG 17 Machine Guns to the cannons. The cannon are really low velocity and have limited ammo and my aim is pretty bad so the extra ammo of the MGs really help. I also feel that I'm usually on target a lot more with the machine guns than the cannon.

You should try out the He-100D, its basically a better Bf 109 E-1, that MIGHT climb a bit less, has less ammo, but if overall better than the 109. AND for some reason its also at BR 1.7!

Jengar Oh no doubt! Which is why I love this plane. It has that room for expansion for a player's skill to shine through. Its probably the first true Energy Fighter that becomes available so early in the game for players, and I hope many more players cut their teeth on it instead of glossing it over for the fact it doesn't have cannons.

you should continue climbing until you're reasonably sure you're the highest plane. this could be 15 to 20.000 feet. From there you work your way down!

400m gives you good gun overlap and a very lethal beating zone, and you still get some range. Less hits and i find the e1 has better firepower than the cannon armed planes, every kill is usually a one pass.
