War Thunder [SIM|VR] - First Dogfight in a Jet (Vampire FB 52A vs A28B)

So it was almost my first time flying a jet (I mean, I flew the T-2 once a while ago) and it was quite fun. My plane was completely stock but that didn't seem to be a big issue during this fight. My crew needs to build some G tolerance though... :)

​@@ATC83 Yeah lol, I've always been a flight sim addict but trackir just never felt comfortable. I had a quest 2 I was rocking for about a year but I sold it for grocery money a few weeks back, I'm planning on picking up something wired once I start my new job

I chose one the most maneuverable jets on purpose for my first jet try to sorta "acclimate" myself, and had more fun than expected! Yeah WT isn't perfect but it's a beautiful game imo, the fact that I played it much more than any other says something in itself

I also think if Gaijin paid more attention to sim with improvements and monetized sim mode at like 3 dollars (us) a month, they would have a cash cow, and dominate the semi-sim market. They are on console where IL2 and DCS arent, and a lot of sim players are craving something

@@its-butters58 all GJ had to do is recognize the difficulty of Sim Mode and increase the rewards significantly and people will come in droves. The base game itself is amazing, just needs tweaks and fixes here and there.

@Reggie Koestoer while you are definitely correct, you have to understand that the rewards are already significantly better than air rb and random battles. At least at mid-teir, where it starts to be become irredeemable is how its so expensive at top teir with repair costs and the rewards dont scale

@@its-butters58 yes exactly, even if the rewards are bigger, the cost is also disproportionately higher. That's why you can rack SL faster in RB at this point. Unless you're absolutely slaying in SB, you'll only be at an impasse or even a loss, in relation to time spent.

I'm the other guy. I also fly VR. :) I ripped off my combat flaps right after shooting at you (probably those smoke trails) which neutered my low speed agility. I also realized a bit later that I was flying with a limited control curve (0.9 and some axis nonlinearity). I couldn't turn when I really needed to. >.

Hi fellow VR traveller :) It was a nice fight, a shame about your flaps... I also had nonlinearity on the pitch axis, but I removed it a while ago and after some training, I like it much better that way. See you in the virtual skies!

@@ATC83 the tempest is very cool ! boom and zoom nicely but very it will punish you for every mistakes. Firebrand don’t have a good turn rate and a wonderful speed but is very stable and is good in high and low altitude

what settings do you play at? Did u ever had image doubling up?

Yeah I had image doubling. I think what fixed it for me was setting Vertical Synchronisation to "fast" instead of "controlled by the application" or something in Nvidia Control Panel. Not absolutely sure this was it though, I tweaked quite a lot before having it right
