I had a IIIc (K) back in the 70s, it was a 1942 model in silver, I sold it in the 80s not realising what it would fetch decades later!

In thé 70s early 80s i had 50 plus Leica and nikon rangefinders. Red curtain. Had 2. Décided To sell . One Day i sold 45 of emm.

Fl = Flugzeug (aeroplane). The Lufwaffe was equipped solely with aeroplanes, which meant everything in its inventory was one, including this camera. Iirc, there were two separate Fl numbers used.

The luftwaffe camera is so amazing. Not only is it a great, high quality camera, but it is also a huge piece of camera history, and a huge piece of world war II history.

My 1939 3a is excellent condition, but I use it as normal . It doesn't live in a cabinet.
