Warcaster Batrep 002 - Aeternus Continuum vs Empyreans

First off, apologies for the delay. This video should have been out 2 months ago, but work and family got crazy recently. On top of several big situations at work that required lots of overtime, our family has been hit with different illnesses back to back from our grandson getting RSV to everyone of us being down for several weeks with a nasty virus.
The frustrating thing is that I've made lots of strides in my video editing over the past 6 months that make creating videos a lot faster, but with everything going on, I had almost no time to work on videos. Or when I did have time, I was down sick with no energy.

Love the visuals and narrative. Super fun watch. But when the scourge didn't hollowphage the aeon after that first hit for the kill, and then also didn't spike to stun module the heavy warjack after hitting it with the claw, that hurt me a bit lol But I know it's all about the story and drama of the fight, so it's all good!

The graphics are a lot of fun. But I'm still in turn 1 and I want to smack the Empy player upside the head. His first turn made no sense. He should have given the Arc to the jack so it could actually hit and held on to the Encrypted Command card. The activation tokens would have cleared at the start of the next turn anyway since all models had activated.

Bear in mind a few things: this was my first time ever playing Empyreans & wanted to explore as much of their different abilities etc. Secondly, our batreps are never going to be examples of the most optimal play. We're casual players who like to explore the story of the game as it plays out on the table. Also, while you are obviously 100% correct about the activation tokens clearing on turn 2, that can be blamed on 2 things. First, in all of our games, we've only once or twice had situations where at the start of a turn all of a side's models had activation tokens. So, since it's not something we see often, I wasn't even thinking about planning for it. Secondly, I fully admit that my focus was more on the chance to use the Factotum's spike ability. From the start of deployment, that was in the back of my mind.

Sort of. New content, stories, and factions are still being done. Just like many wargames they took a hit during the pandemic. Thankfully the MK4 while not making new older faction models still supports the old factions by giving them updated rules to be played with or against the new MK4 factions.

@@qwefg3 nice. since writing this, i got a game in and even got an orgoth army. It's been great to roll some dice again. It definitely feels different and familiar. So i'm excited to play again.
