lots of people use wire wool to start campfires as it will catch hold even if it's a bit damp, nice series, I need one of these myself, so I may pinch your ideas and have a go. Many thanks for the upload. Bob

HI Ade, I am really enjoying your videos and am finding them useful. I came to this game rather late in life have had a bit of a gratuity from my military pension. So, I bought the same lathe as yours and the mill down (WM14). I have machined the cone thingy from the compound improvement (took me a couple of tries) but currently lack the necessary pair to bore the slide. I will get there though. I fancy making the quick change tool post that you put together and was wondering whether or not drawings were available to follow. If so, where can I purchase them from? Keep up the great work. Ian

Cast iron is very high in cabon/graphite content. Once machined these little particles will easily burn. It is the high carbon/graphite content that makes the cast iron a self lubricating metal and bloody dirty to work with.

Yes, I was looking at the drilling and instinctively shouting at Ade "Lubrication, man!" before realising that it's cast iron.

I am certainly enjoying your Channel Ade, but methinks you need a new UHD camera.
