Best early game strat for this is to send out knights running everywhere to try to kill more of early orcs. Knights 1 hit kill them and each kill gives 2 gold as compared to later units 1 gold. Gives a little early boost to get faster income upgrades

tbf you have to build at choke points and make one bigger base; You can't go between bases that are closed off to defend them. Generally, I think it worked cause it was easy or maybe the map has changed.
