Quick note, the game used to be a lot harder because wood/gold/archer upgrades were locked behind peasant levels, but that's not the case anymore due to a bug in reforged. Having wood/gold/archer upgrades locked sounds like it would result in very different gameplay. I suspect that solo lumber god would be impossible if that were the case. I greatly prefer games that cap you based on your performance as opposed to essentially time gating you. So this bug unintentionally made the game much more enjoyable for me. I played Lumber TD on my second Saturday livestream. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pajKpnWLmrKte6s I thought it was conceptually interesting but the game dragged on too long for my tastes. My preferred pvp game time is about 30 minutes or less but the shorter the better.

@@ZeusesCloud Oh cool, I watched the video, yea that dragged on quite a bit. I will say though, you can kill people and tech up a lot faster, especially if you use your wizard with items. You can also build a lumber outpost and harvest lumber really fast around the map. Also seems like you were playing quite an old version, the later versions have options for teams, and of course less bugs and no buildings hidden behind upgrades. Cheers!

opiemonster Was there an Archer peasant with multi shot in earlier versions of your map? I remember playing the map very early where it got impossibly hard after 3 waves or so. Looks a lot more balanced now

thank you for the walk through, how did you figure out how to get the bonus? any thorough handbook?

What bonus are you referring to? If you just want to know how I figured out how to beat the game I had a pretty good idea of what to do by the end of my last video. I realized that by getting gold coin upgrades earlier you would get significantly more money. A lesser gold coin is only worth 5 whereas a gold coin is worth 100. From there I had the money to easily build lots of lumber mills and get damage upgrades for the archers.

Each point of armor reduces incoming damage by ~5% (stacking multiplicatively). This means going from 100 -> 103 armor is just as beneficial as going from 0 -> 3 armor. You mention at 33:20 that you think the rogue armor isn't very useful, but with three armor, that's (0.95^3 = 0.85) about 15% damage mitigation, which is only slightly less useful than the ring of evasion's 20% mitigation. I dunno, I think it's slightly more valuable than you give it credit for.

so there are no diminishing returns on armor. also the 20% dodge effectively give u a bonus 20% hp which would also be an added bonus on top of the armor, no? i am jsut trying to understand, not disagreeing with you also the mitigation from a dodge is 100% damage reduction for that hit, where as the armor mitigation is a % reduction in total damage

@@katiemacskasy5075 Yes, that's right. Until rounding comes into play, there are no diminishing returns on armor. Each new point means you take 5% less damage than you did before. Evasion gives you total mitigation for some hits, whereas armor gives you some mitigation for every hit. If your luck is average, then 20% evasion is just as good as 20% armor. Both extend your lifespan by the same amount.

I'm not sure where you got your information from. However, an accurate armor calculator that I found shows that armor has diminishing returns. At 103 armor you would have ~86.07% damage reduction at 104 armor you would have ~86.19% damage. Which is only a relative .139% increase of [(86.19/86.07) -1) * 100]. Alternatively lets say we go from 27 armor (61.83%) to 30(64.29). Those 3 points of armor would only provide a relatively durability increase of 3.97% total as opposed to the 5% per armor point that you are suggesting. The 20% evasion on the other hand is a flat 20% ehp increase. If you see a mistake in my calculations I would be happy if you point them out. ​@@ZeusesCloud I'm basing my numbers based on this source ( classic.battle.net/war3/basics/armorandweapontypes.shtml -- it's at the very bottom) where it says each point of armor reduces damage taken by 5.7%. I'm assuming it stacks multiplicatively, where your total damage reduction is just (100% - 5.7%) raised to the power of your armor. For the rogue armor, that means (0.943 ^ 3) = 0.836, or about 16.4% mitigation. But it's possible the game uses a different and much more complicated formula for whatever reason. Even small changes _additively_ can mean big changes _multiplicatively._ For example, consider the difference between 99% damage reduction and 99.9% damage reduction. The armor has only gone up by a paltry 0.9%, but the effect is you're taking _one-tenth_ the damage. Using your example, going from 61.83% mitigation to 64.29% mitigation would mean more than taking 3.97% less damage, again for the same reason going from 99% mitigation to 99.9% mitigation means more than taking 0.9% less damage.

I made a video showing how to host games in Warcraft 3 Reforged as well. All you have to do is go to custom games, create game, select a map, give your lobby a title and then click create.
