WarDragon Late Night NGScopeclient Initial Setup w/ UHD Bridge Test (B205mini) part 1

In this video I demonstrate how to compile NGScopeclient on the WarDragon (DragonOS FocalX). NGScopeclient is a high performance, GPU accelerated remote user interface, signal processing, protocol analysis, and automation tool for test and measurement equipment. I'll be focused on it's ability to utilize a Software Defined Radio (SDR).
After successfully compiling NGScopeclient, I decided to take it a step further by building and testing the ScopeHAL-UHD-Bridge. This not only allows for connection with the Ettus B205mini but also sets the stage for future exploration with devices like the ANTSDR E200.
Throughout the video, I provide detailed instructions and insights into the compilation process, sharing tips and tricks for a seamless build. We'll explore the dependencies needed for both NGScopeclient and the ScopeHAL-UHD-Bridge, following the guide provided on the NGScopeclient website.
By the end of this tutorial, you'll have a fully functioning NGScopeclient and ScopeHAL-UHD-Bridge setup. Stay tuned for an upcoming video where I hope to come back with a better understanding of what's all possible with NGScopeclient + ANTSDR E200.

Great work, Thanks! One question, is it runneable from an DragonOS virtualized? I saw the SW ask you to have certain kind of GPU.

That’s a good question. Vulcan can use the gpu associated with the cpu but I don’t know how that would react in a Vm?

Hola!! Nice to see the War Dragon coming to its own. I still plan on placing my order for one very soon. I’ve a question about updating the GCC in Dragon OS. Ive made one of my laptops my dedicated DragonOS hardware, so Dragon is the only OS installed. After update/upgrade , shows gcc as 11.2.0-1ubun… For the Hypervisor I’m attempting to install, it requires 12.3.0. The commands I’ve come up with are as follows… sudo apt install software-properties-common. : sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test. Sudo update sudo apt install gcc-12 g++-12 gcc-13 g++-13 -y I found these from various Ubuntu info sites but don’t seem to be getting it done. Any input would be greatly appreciated. No rush at all, only if / when convenient. Thanks, Jason Burchell

Jason i feel like you can install gcc 12 without even adding a repo. There’s only one thing I ran into when adding gcc12 and I’m trying to remember, it has to do with later adding KrakenSDR software and needing to make sure I think another package is installed. I’ll have to check. But you shouldn’t have issues otherwise.
