That Bradley fighting vehicle bopping the buildings with the 25mm brings back memories from my time there in 04-05. Ours weren't all desert colored like in this film, but green with desert reactive armor. It seems accurate that they realized they needed bradleys with the amount of dudes blowing themselves up in cars rigged with explosives. Poor bastards never did anything but knock the reactive armor off the side of the things when they blew themselves up with the ones my platoon had anyway. Knocked the wiring out of place during a vbied attack I was in in one of those bradleys got a concussion the troop compartment was full of smoke for a minute, someone asked a squad leader if the halon bottle went off, but i knew it wasnt a halon bottle cause i had one go off on accident in a bradley i was in in grafwonwier, germany and the guys who didn't hold their breath got the wind knocked out of them. The platoon sniper turned the turret back on to pull security and it accidentally discharged from wiring getting jacked up from the vbied, and friendly fired into this guys leg from another unit. Blew his calf right out of his leg. I was the medic so i put a tourniquet on his leg to slow the bleeding and 1st sgt. had me load dude up into the backseat of an up armor humvee and his driver took him back through the front gate and to the batallion aid station. We had just left FOB Summerall when we got hit at this newly constructed traffic control point right down the road of the forward operating base.
