As of Hotfix 37.0.3, Melee Afflictions will not be triggered by Ragdoll on enemies in the Blood Altar state (and other immobilized states). Knockdown still works.

A fellow melee afflictions voruna enjoyer, good to see somebody recognizing the synergy. My favorite melees for it would probably be nikanas and heavy blades.

@@rogerdasilva1460 it's actually buffed now with the new augment. 50% dmg vulnerability on FoR target + 150% extra range.

I forgot to include the scene I had prepared about the damage overflow. The scene showed that the following actions using the Cascade build resulted in 0 spread damage and 1 DoT damage. Hystrix (Heat, Toxin) → Shroud of Dynar → Fangs of Raksh (Gas) → Blood Altar → two Heavy Attacks (Slash, Electricity, Gas) Be aware that this will happen frequently if you focus too much on high damage.

Since "blade and whip" weapons have lift on the first hit on the neutral attack you can use this with any helminth on voruna even roar, assuming FoR have procced a DoT This become easier as the enemies become more bulkier but you can just use lets say a Dorclave then use your 1, look for the marked enemy, use your 2 then spam your neutral meele attack. Doing this depending on the DoT applied of your FoR you will see good numbers or just a tileset wipe with enemies taking thousands or millions of damage

What other helminths do you think would work for this build? Dont have blood altar unlocked yet

We could achieve almost the same thing by using Trinity's Well of Life, but as the pinned comment says, Ragdoll no longer works on immobilized enemies. If the reason it doesn't work is a bug and it is fixed, you'll be able to use the ability.

​@@jWFlabso, unless it is a bug as you say and it is supposed to work with ragdolls and gets added again, it should work with well of life and blood altar, and if it's not added again you are better off using something that can apply knockdown like the nikanas stance, right?

Currently only Knockdown works on Blood Altar, and none of the three works on Well of Life. If the bug is fixed, Ragdoll and Knockdown will work on Blood Altar, and only Ragdoll will work on Well of Life.

Do you think the new augment can replace overextended or is the dash range more important than the spread range

As for the dash range, even the base value of 30m is sufficient, so Prey of Dynar can be used in place of Ability Range mods. However, I'm not sure if the spread range calculation is intended or not. (190% Ability Range) 7m * 1.9 * (1 + 1.5 * 1.9) = 51.205m

Disruption? No. Though I have confirmed that the Blood Altar setup can hit damage cap on Demolishers in Simulacrum, it's not well suited for the mission at this moment because Melee Afflictions doesn't work on them at all. Since there is a video on KZbin of Ragdoll being able to trigger the Arcane in the past, this seems to be the same issue as the pinned comment.

​@@jWFlab Afflictions does work in demolishers, you just need to use stances with forced ragdolls, like Rending Crane. The issue using WoL or blood altar is that demolishers turn off the ability.

I didn't use those abilities against Demolishers, of course. When was the last time you checked that? I just tried it a few minutes ago with Gram Prime in Apollo and it didn't work.

@@jWFlab So i tested it again with forced ragdolls on hammers, like jat kitag, it didnt work, then i tried spinning needles with nepheri, also didnt work and i checked last hotfix, no info about this change.... kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYK5c56rrsiKjtEsi=AnTPsxQKFYujbXx0 did a long run when it used to work.
