Oh, you don’t know how happy I am to hear “I share builds as a framework, MAKE YOUR OWN!” from one of these videos.
@PrismariLauraАй бұрын
YES! That's the main issue with warframe content - full builds that don't go over *why* certain mods are chosen over others, so people just copy and paste them without thinking or knowing how to improve them later on
@LockeWickАй бұрын

It's a nice change. Most old players don't share anything other than misinformation. They don't share builds and sometimes don't even understand different play styles. They think of you're not running something specific you're not playing the game right. I was doing good angel missions successfully alone when player joined and tried criticize me for not having a flipping 777 amp.
@LockeWickАй бұрын
@ I largely play the game solo (unless I team up with friends) because I tend to find other players more of an annoyance with either criticisms or literal joykills with their builds not letting anyone else have anything to do besides running to the objective(s).
@therealbahamutАй бұрын
In short: don't double up on mod effects if you can help it because covering more stats nets your more benefit than stacking one stat. If you're doing excess damage, don't be afraid to sacrifice a little in order to experiment. Don't be afraid to outsource a mod's effect to arcanes once you've built up said arcanes. Build around unique weapon traits but don't forget the foundations of good damage. Do what works for you and if it works, don't let anyone tell you you're wrong.
@BaeBunniАй бұрын
Imo do check the wiki on weapons occasionally so you can learn more about the weapon. Thanks to how the code is like he mentions in the video about the galvanized aptitude mod sometimes it's benefits can be way better than they appear because of ingame mechanics so you can make more informed decision.

I run generalist builds for EVERYTHING in WF. People can pry my primed vigor, mobilize, and 8 pip corrupted mods from my cold, dead hands. Saves me so much forma and it barely matters in 99% of the game. Only time I ever consistently go to level cap is circuit anyway. If I can do raids, level cap, archon hunts, EDA, etc with my build and I never have issue... then it's fine! Run whatever youi want. Great video and thank you for talking about how people are obsessed with min maxxing.

For some reason I think i needed to hear this. It's been such a daunting experience for me. Thinking I HAVE TO do it as these youtubers are doing, to the point I've considered uninstalling since I'll never (any time soon) reach these levels. Sometimes I put my own build together and realize it works fine! I do arbitrations and Archon hunts etc just fine, so I may be good til I get best in slot mods etc.

Those numbers are not just weightings, that is infact a representation of the dmg you are dealing. A higher heat value means higher dmg heat procs.
@amberw3829Ай бұрын
I originally thought this was entirely false, but after testing I found out I was wrong! This is true for elemental procs. Slash procs, though, are still only affected by base damage, which I guess makes it an outlier rather than the rule. Increasing the proportion of slash damage with mods like Buzz Kill will not increase proc damage, only increasing the base damage with mods like Serration, increasing status damage with mods like Rifle Elementalist or adding multipliers with faction mods or skills like Roar will increase its damage.

Utility mods can actually achieve a better outcome then pure 'damage output' build. Like I use a Primed Reload on Dex Pixia, this means I have a lot less downtime between firing and stopping, so it feels so much better. This goes for a lot of weapons. Where adding in an ammo or reload mod is better then having more damage.

I know what I need to do different now and after trying some of your framework, I'm hitting much harder now! Diminishing returns was the biggie too. My ONLY constructive feedback on the video, is it would of been extra helpful to have the words "corrosive" "viral" etc when you were showing all the build screenshots. I took all the pictures without really knowing which was corrosive vs viral for example. Just would of added extra flavor. Thanks again, cheers!

I really REALLY appreciate this video. I've been sifting through multiple videos to help make sense of how to make a build and how to work with it as I'm a bit challenged in making builds from scrap. Their are systems at play in this game I'm still quite dumb about. However my issues began long ago in another game over a decade or more ago where you need to make your own builds from scratch to make a character that was either a Support or Damage based player (could even be a hybrid of the two if you wanted too), and every time.. EVERY TIME I made a build. People would criticize me for not having a good build for what I need to use it for, especially in MMORPG games in super difficult content. I acknowledge I don't know alot about how things work in each of these games; each game is different that has this vast mechanism of modification that can revolutionize how you play that game, the keys are given to you and you can go at it! However their isn't a good guide or video (usually) for these games in videos explaining these things and how to incorporate these systems as you make a build (maybe a good idea devs to have an in-depth set of guides teaching people the systems?). I feel I've been jaded with how often people told me my builds were horrible so I thought I'd just stop making them, which would mean I need to rely on videos like this to at least have a template to go off, I suppose I'm just saying thank you for making this video.

Generaly speaking status effects are the king, and not only for DOT builds. The best way to increase damage is to apply both viral + armor strip. Just this vs heavy gunner increases your damage 20x at 1 viral and 60x on 9 virals. Armor striping is much better than 10 corrosive stacks as it leaves enemies at 65% damage reduction, if you add heat, its still 47%. This is about 5x more damage and with 1viral stack, that is 10x. If you add max viral, that is about 30x. If you add 1 tauforged green shard, and go full corossive, you leave enemy at 15% damage reduction, if you add heat, its 8,6%. You basicaly dont need armour strip as long as you use 1 shard and apply max corossive. In other words, this 1 shard can almost double your damage if you use corrosive to armour strip. Becouse most weapons are not able to do both corossive and viral, many people just leave the other out. But its important to use a companion primer and you put corrosive on the one that is able to apply more status effects as viral has lower max power and higher min power. Best weapon for sentinel priming is currently verglas prime. If you add radiated reload, you also gain a lot of defence.

20:57 the biggest example of "uncommon traits" IMO is the Felarx with its "reloading gives fire rate for each pellet reloaded" trait. This incentivizes you to run really uncommon mods like tactical pump and ammo stock to capitalize on that increased fire rate. My favorite "uncommon" mods to use with it are Atomic Fallout to further increase the mag size and Chilling Reload to further boost the reload speed, while also giving some elemental damage (radiation and cold respectively), though the only reason I'm running Chilling Reload is due to a riven with base damage and toxin.

Felrax is carrying me through SP with base frame Xaku 😂
@RetrucalucasАй бұрын
Another good example that Flo didn't mentioned in the video is building around rivens (although he talked using QoL mods if you want them). I have a very good crit riven for Dual Toxocyst that has like -99% ammo, so if I don't use an ammo mod for it, I can't even stack the incarnation. But once I do, the incarnon own ammo makes the riven so worth it.
@PrismariLauraАй бұрын
@@Retrucalucas best practice for riven usage is to build without a riven, and see what mod your riven can replace. Going on my felarx again, I got a god roll: +damage, +multishot and +toxin. So it allowed me to replace two mods (damage and toxin), freeing a slot for Chilling Reload. Generally speaking, though, you always want your riven to be "this mod but better", so a riven with, say, cold and heat can be "hellfire but better".

But with a guide video, I get a little background knowledge on how the weapon functions and feels as well as a starter build to work from as I tweak it. You and Leyzargaming are probably the best two general Warframe guide creators on youtube as far as I'm concerned. There are others that I follow who put out great guides as well, but I don't think anyone has the ability to hit the largest number of players and help increase their build knowledge like you two. No shade to any creator I missed, I'm still a bit new to playing Warframe as my daily driver so even though I have a decent enough amount of hours in game I only recently started watching guide videos.

If you have time, I'd like to see an addendum to this video going over how Stances effect Melee Modding; purely because it was kinda skipped over in this video. But for a full video? I would _love_ to see an equivalent of this video for Warframes. Warframes not only have Auras to consider, but they also have two Arcane slots with a ton of Arcanes, five Archon Shard slots with 6 standard and 6 Tauforged Shards to slot, and freaking _Subsume._ That's a _lot_ of puzzle pieces to consider. Plus, once Warframes are nailed down, that advice could likely extend to Companions, Archwings, and Necramechs as well; as they use _basically_ the same idea (similar to how this video can be used for Robotic Weapons).

This is another big one for beginners. Go and farm the damn mods. Stop watching your favourite KZbin and their meta builds, then whining in clan chat you don't have those mods. The mods are not that hard to farm. In fact, before you even start steel path, farm every mod from the arbitration vendor. They're like 20 vitus each, which isn't much at all. Then you will just pick up the arcanes from acolytes as you play. You will end up drowning in them. You also do not need a god roll riven on ANY build to hit level cap. 10:20 Regarding this order, I'd put Damage > Multishot > Crit > Fire Rate in that order. Especially considering this is for new players! They will not have the capacity to use all those mods, and MS is much better than crit. Early MR weapons will have low crit, and Multishot is THE stat to have on almost every weapon. Especially if we factor in mod capacity: Serration + Split Chamber use 29 capacity (out of 30), while Serration + Point Strike + Vital Sense use 32 capacity (out of 30). And when we factor in using the Boltor as an example, I think putting Crit in second place was not the best choice. It only gets that weapon to 25% CC, while Multishot almost doubles the damage instances (i.e. the Boltor goes from 1.0 MS to 1.9, which is 90% chance of two damage instances). I know about the "build however you like", but that stat priority is what new players will look at, and I believe it's incorrect. Even in the late game we always go for Galv. Multishot mods over anything else!

Yea I think he's gotten it mixed up because adding slash mods doesn't increase the damage of slash ticks, and just assumed this was the case around the board

Clutch man, maybe sometime go into a vid ab how noobs can start to proc overload dmg and what abilities on what frames/companions but i get that stuff is more niche and requires more deep dive Great stuff all around💯

Dude, Idk why people jerk off Vile Acceleration so much compared to Primed Shred. Most of the content I enjoy doing has large groups (ie SP survival void fissures) and the 2.2 punch through goes so far for me, and rewards me for lining up enemies. So happy you keep repeating "You can build how you want" because a lot of weapons can be specked into different things and perform well, like the Nagantaka Prime which my partner uses is built entirely for status, but I got a riven that let me hit over 100% crit so I do a hybrid, and its pretty even in terms of damage.

There's a good chunk of weapons that PT doesn't even work on/don't need it on, so usually you use shred where it applies and then vile for any other case.

Just remember too much multishot isn't always a good thing, especially when it comes to incarnons, unless you like blowing your load in an instant, and you can always get rid of speed trigger and just run reinforced bond on your companion with high shields(unless you're planning on covering that on your next vids, I mean no offense).But other than that I feel new players would find this video very helpful, nice work.

Kuva hek begs to differ XD Also not every incarnon has the perk of letting ms take directly from ammo.

Oh. So... I can actually drop the damage mod? I didn't even know that arcane existed! Literally left for a year or two and I still felt underpowered even when I have everything done, before steel path was even out. This guide is really helpful and might actually push me back to warframe after so long!

lmao, I didn't watch the video, but on the picture you put a Boltor to speak of "Any weapon" in the game. Boltor is one of the most best weapon in the game, always have been even tho it was a bit off since Steel Path, and it became the best weapon again with it's incarnon genesess, but what makes it really one of the best weapons in the game is the statuss cold rework. It's ssimply the BEST main weapon I have in the game, and I'm legendary 1. Even my (incarnon) Torid, which has been my best main for a while, can't compete :') SSo your choice for the picture is really not the best :p

So that's why my Soma Prime feals like it shreds the vast majority of enemies, having that conbo of Viral and Slash

This video has been so, so helpful. Applied what I learned and immediately felt an improvement in my damage output. Thank you. You've earned yourself a sub. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

I like doing dumb things, and after coming back (I take frequent, long breaks) a couple months ago, Blast has become my favourite change recently. Even taking the likes of my Stug and having it kill in SP effectively. Even the Hikou with Concealed Explosives actually killing to sustain a SP Survival. Edit: Note, I mean killing using almost exclusively Concealed Explosives for damage.

For a.. 90% Inertia person, structure is EVERYTHING. Guidance, step by step... Yeah! I need it, i need it real bad! But a frame with lines of structures, a starting ''frame'' if you will? Guides you yeah, but not all the way. Merely gives you options with a shape visible. One you actually Can feel comfortable with changing! That's not a bad way to explain things, and you underline the need for self-thinking despite showing options. Instead of laying down the paths, you reveal them partially. Feels like you're teaching a child, but with the reflections and maturity that allows growth not limited to any age. So, actually proper teaching. Hey! These are options, but feel free to modify them. Pretty interesting, really. (And have fun those who might be like: ''uuuuuuhhh much text LOLZ!!'' This is a comment. a fish in the sea. Lol.) This is just a comment. A RANDOM COMMENT. Thanks for reading.
