And that, in a nutshell, is why I loved red dragon's campaigns: they are very engrossing. I found myself planning out moves while at work, weighing the different options and just getting lost in all of it. Unlike games like Total war, here you have a limited amount of pieces. On the one hand it avoids too many complicated (in my opinion) mechanics, but on the other hand it makes it so that each decision you make carries that much more weight.

That "Foch" is French, not German. I imagine its named after Ferdinand Foch, and its pronounced more like "Fosh" than "Fohk"
@matthieutankol26816 жыл бұрын
Correct, it's pronounced like you pronounce "Cheux" in SD

Maybe you should deploy a logistics battalion lol

Great job Vulcan. Get a resupply company for your forces at Chuncheon. Use the French and British to do a combined naval and amphibious assault on that island.

Jesus Christ, there are literally more Lafayette frigates in the _Foch_ battle group than ever actually existed IRL.

Wonju is the best defensive map for u in this whole campaign. Retreating from there was a mistake. The daegu sector in the battle of Wonju gives u the buildings u need and u can deploy those tanks covering both roads on the edge of the forest. Having only 8 sochong su wasn't a problem. U have K1s there.

Yeah, it's like "spend an extra few seconds looking through your available forces" could save him the extra hassle!
@KevinMacku6 жыл бұрын
I disagree that it's "the best defensive map". It's "A Maze in Japan" which is just ungodly awful, and with Vulcan's playstyle it would end with him getting flanked because he couldn't hold all of the roads. Yes, it's good to just turtle up in the Daegu sector, but from what I've seen so far, that's not how Vulcan plays (or likes to play), and Yeongdeok is a lot better for his playstyle. Sadly, he retreated to Daegu...which he can still make work, but the AI's going to go to Yeongdeok.

Kevin Macku well sometimes the playstyle must adapt.

these campaigns are a good showcase of how terrible the ai is in this game

Or how accurate it can be simulating action of real officers :D

It isn't just bad, it is REALLY bad from what I'm seeing. It masses armor into city fights. It spams smoke into cities, only to then drive armor into it, rather than spamming regular artillery to attempt to drive defending forces out. It doesn't attempt to use its own infantry to clear cities properly. It spreads its forces either far too thin, sending single units at you - or it clumps them together in a massive blob, making them easy prey. Steel Division AI is much better in my experience, honestly. Sure, it still won't beat a decent player, but it at least is able to handle the game mechanics slightly better. Perhaps its due to the nature of Wargame, but it seems the AI just can't manage things at all.

I never quite got its use of smoke when it should just be using normal shells.

Careful if you attack Sokcho, they didn't bring up their T-90S's, so your airborne troops are gonna be up against those.
@haydenberry77836 жыл бұрын
If I may suggest a thought I think there are some T 90s near chunchean sector and the seals did good against the T 90s and other tanks I would probably refit them but you should be able to handle it with out the with air support if they have no AA
@nogodsnomasters76696 жыл бұрын
Vulcan-Japanese airborne units landing at Sokcho is a great idea to cut off enemies ability to retreat and the 21e RIMa is a must has a well balanced force to smash the Chinese and don’t forget the French Air Force to help take out the tank and IFV spam. Not sure if this is too late as you have already fought these battles? Good luck

What do you guys think is the second easiest campaign? I'm decent at SD but apparently pretty terrible at this. It took me several tries to win the Busan pocket campaign (although several I restarted when I probably didn't have to). You would think it is the Bear vs Dragon but I read somewhere it's one of the harder ones.
@Helmutschmackr6 жыл бұрын
Bear vs Dragon is hard because towards the end of the campaign they drop loads of future units on you
