My introduction to 40k proper was with that set. I remember going crazy over the close combat rules which ended with, but the marine could slip on a banana peel and the gretchin kicks him while he is down.

I was gifted with three of such boxes: I had a job interview with GW in Milan. Being the last of 6, I have got also the boxes of the two guys that did not attended at the interview. The rules: I loved them! I was so disappointed by third edition changes to stop 40k

@@edpaintsminis it was a long process to be there. At the time the comunication was only via letters an calls at the family house number. The pre selection was hard, only 6 candidates all across Italy, the gw idea was to start the "italian studio" in Nottingham to translate rules an wd magazine. During the interview I had to fill a questionare to test my knowledge on bground and rules; plus they requested to bring with me some painted models, and was funny, since one of interviewer asked if I would sell him my stone troll. The travel to Milano Malpensa was for me > than 300 km. I had not only my copy but 3! One of them I gifted my club. I should still have an untouched box in my garage🤔

id love to see you do some tutorials on how to paint black templars or blood angels on just one of the older models you have so you dont have to do an ]entire army if you dont feel like doing so, theres VERY little tutorials on the golden era of GW/ 40k esp so for marines that arent Ultra Marines or Dark Angels or Space Wolves, so considering im starting to collect oldhammer era space marines and also slowly building a Black Templar army id love to see you do a 2nd ed Black Templar Marine or a 2nd Ed Plague Marine!

I was actually just talking to my kids about taking out my Rogue Trader rulebook (now it's necessary to specify, my Warhammer 40k 1st edition rulebook) and whatever White Dwarfs I have from back in the day, for the terrain tutorials and we are going to be making some this summer. It will hopefully be supplemented by six to ten of the Battlefield in a Box ruins and then I'll figure out if it's worth getting some Deathray Designs MDF for 90s Necronunda, or make our own to supplement my ACTUAL 90s Necromunda terrain that we still use for games of 40k.

Not sure what witchcraft you've harnessed but those miniatures youve painted actually look better than theyve ever looked in ye olde White Dwarf. Lovely free hand banners, rich marine armour, the ork skin, are you sure these are the same miniatures I've never liked? Your ork dread looks great, menacing pose. Bad Moon boss is my favourite boss miniature, great choice to lead your greenskins in a waaaaaaaaaargh.

Hey Danny - Check out Squidmar Miniatures Blood Angels Contrast Video. I basically used his method for the Chest/Eagle/Aquila but on a whole mini! Hope that helps and glad you like the look of him!
