I'm on the cusp of being bugged out in act 4. I'm pretty oblivious to graphic bugs and lot of glitches can be resolved by save & reload. I hate the mechanics not working properly but that is also minor in the grand scheme of things, as are those times when you duplicate a character... The killers are when quests don't complete properly, which happened once or twice in acts 1-3 but is very common in Act 4. Anyhow agree with the analysis, good review. You can generally avoid the trash fights when travelling by upgrading the routes to yellow or green. It's not ideal to gate this behind a strategic choice. There are some pretty broken builds - I can give my party +100% armour as the first action in every fight which as you say pretty much means I have won regardless of how many enemies are involved. I'm not sure how long this will seem fun especially being bugged in act 4 but it's OK for now.

Get the game on PC, the Toybox is the only thing that makes it playable for me, I'm too old for a lot of the tedium, and I take full advantage!😂
@roguerifter97249 ай бұрын
I used Toybox once because I missed the option I wanted for the Cassia romance by one point. At the time I thought my mistake was probably a day's worth of play or more. It was only later I realized my mistake was only around an hour before the deciding point.

It cannot possibly be more complicated than pathfinder! Can it??
@Gamesear11 ай бұрын
You can make a good argument for either game. On one hand it's less complicated since Pathfinder nowadays has a million different classes and abilities thanks to the DLCs. On the other hand, Rogue Trader's abilities and items feel like they are much deeper and have much more synergy with each other.

i crave the story but combat feels so wonky to me :( i have a lot of experience with all the owlcat games and have played bg3 since the first day it hit EA so im used to crpgs and whatnot but it just feels like im just constantly fighting with not a lot of story progression compared to how much im battling. I guess thats not a huge issue but even when i am wayyyy stronger than the enemy and can one shot them the fights still take too long for what shouldve been a quick destruction for my enemies. Anyone have any advice? does it hit a better ratio of fighting/story a little later on? i want to play this so bad but i cant get past the combat feeling boring and extremely slow
@Gamesear11 ай бұрын
It's a good news/bad news kind of situation. The good news is that once your characters are leveled up and better geared, it'll become easier and easier to blow through encounters. The bad news, if you don't like the combat anyway, is that there's still a lot of it and no real way to avoid fighting. That said, if you only care about the story and don't want the combat, you could tweak the difficulty so you basically insta-win fights. It's not the most exciting way to play, but the option's there if you want it.

Seems like it will be a great game when patched up. So I guess the question I have is whether this is a company that patches their games and keeps working on polishing them after release and if they do so rather quickly or if it takes years.
@Gamesear11 ай бұрын
So far Rogue Trader is following in the exact same footsteps as Owlcat's previous two games, so there's likely going to be a free Enhanced Edition half a year to a year later that will add new content, fix most of the pressing issues and make the game straight up amazing. Until then, I'm expecting mostly hotfixes for the major problems and softlocks people ran into.

Hope Owl Games would do Dark Heresy, Wraith and Glory or Maledictum games in future
@Gamesear11 ай бұрын
I doubt they're going to move to a different game system any time soon. But, if Wrath of the Righteous' DLCs are any indication, there's a decent chance they'll experiment with different settings and themes so we might still get a 'you're now the inquisition and everything's gone to hell, good luck!' style of campaign.

I wish all dialog was voiced kinda ruins immersion making up voices in my head for npcs
@Gamesear11 ай бұрын
It would be a completely different game if they did that. Full voice acting would mean less choices and less overall dialogue since recording the current script would take forever and be ridiculously expensive. So while it would be cool, I think it would come with a few too many caveats to be worth it. That said, what could happen in a couple of years is that AI voice acting becomes good enough to fill in the blanks. I've seen mods for World of Warcraft that tried to create voice acting for the quests there, and while they're not the best right now, a little more time could definitely change that. So who knows, maybe there'll be a similar Rogue Trader mod in the future.

@ombra711 the text didn't even show up until new playthrough after yesterdays update. It bugged out my first playthrough showed me end credits and gave me all achievements It looked like they had huge development team I mean bgs3 spent heavily into since this game so dialog heavy
@TheGoreforce11 ай бұрын
because it's not all voiced... we have more dialogue options... which is sweet we can ask for more exposition and even more choices and consequences can happen. If they do make a full VO including narrator, you will have less options and it'll be more akin to BG3. While BG3 does have important decisions, you aren't going to learn much about that ancient temple that the cresche was within save for a few paragraph book. Compare those books to the books in pillars of eternity... if those where voiced like the books in diablo 3 and diablo 4, we will have a couple paragraph long book rather than a story across multiple books. Hell grim dawn's books are more interesting and helps the world building compared to the books in BG3. I think there is more than enough room for this kinda budget as long as we have more choices or more responses that help inform you about the world.

I think the complaing problem with complexity is from diferent kind of RPG players. Let's say some chill dude is playing another Bethesda pearl like Starfield, the game presented as an RPG and then this chill dude decides to play game like this, also called an RPG, poor dude might be little bit confused, that there is actually game to play and not just imagine it. If you can't handle the game, lower the difficulty and play whatever build with whomever in story mode, or just try to actually read the game mechanics. And with bugs - you can't f bear in rogue trader, but BG3 after release was insane mess compare to this.
