Space Marine 1 is a respectable looking game considering it released in 2011. Played and recorded the whole thing this weekend and it generally holds up really well, better than most of the lower-ish budget shooters of that era. It's a bit short though in terms of the campaign, only about 4-6 hours depending on your pace, but action packed af.

Not really. Gears of War came out in 2006 and looks ten times better than Space Marine 1. In that respect, SM was a huge disappointment to me. It was still fun, of course.

Graphics are not its main selling point tho, it's the way better balance of choppy and shooty than in SM2. Also I feel the script / dialogues were way more engaging.

It has arguably combat that is WAY more fluid & fun, and a script that plays much better into the spirit of 40K. Try it, you'll like it.

I got the second game and really enjoying it, so got the first and it's a good time man I recommend it. On sale of course. It still stands strong.

First one is hella fun, and executions actually give you back health and not armor so it doesn't punish you as much if you let your guard down and go for full melee brutality.

Visual effects such bullet impacts, smoke, fire, blood and explosions are better in Space Marine 1, because that game was developed by Relic Entertainment, and these men at Relic were masters when it came down to particle effects. Also, there so much more impact in the animations of SM1, another think Relic Entertainment excelled at.

El unico detalle que si siente inferior space marine 2 comparado al space marine 1 es en el sonido de los bolters en el primero se sentia la bestialidad y destruccion de cada disparo, mientras que en el segundo se siente algo generico y menos intimidante

Don't get me wrong, I think the first game is very good, but Space Marine 2 is truly an improvement in just about every way; Graphics, sound design, gameplay, enemy AI, PVE; it's the textbook definition of what a sequel should be.
