Warhammer 40k animated series "The Exodite: Ep1 Flame" - AMW | GMW

At this point in the series "The Exodite" does not disappoint me, on the contrary, it makes me very happy. And I wanted to do a tribute to it, but two episodes is not enough for me, and I needed something to upload to the channel, so I decided to make a video from the AMW genre (if you can call it that). It's essentially the same, but a tribute usually has a story and a narrative, and here it's just one episode of "Flame". In general, I can make a full-fledged tribute for this series only when at least half of the episodes come out. Thank you all for watching)

На данный момент сериал "The Exodite" меня не разочаровывает, а даже наоборот очень радует. И я хотел сделать по нему трибьют, но двух серий НА МОЙ ВЗГЛЯД маловато, а что-то загрузить на канал нужно и я решил сделать видео из жанра AMW (если его так можно назвать). По сути тоже самое, но в трибьют обычно закладывается сюжет и его повествование, а здесь нарезана только одна серия "Flame". В обще полноценный трибьют по данному сериалу я смогу сделать только когда выйдет хотя бы половина серий. Всем спасибо за просмотр)

They made the manta way smaller than it actually is then, each manta can carry 200 fire warriors/drones, 8 battlesuits, and 4 devilfish transports(same size as hammerhead tanks) at the same time, and it's still only the smallest interstellar space craft that the Tau have, though because it handles well inside at atmosphere as well, it is one of their largest fighter planes, it's canonically about as big, in mass as one of the larger imperium titans, thought space hulk style ships are still even larger than that, any unit you can actually play on the table will usually pale in size to the largest space ships any faction has access to

@@RealCodreX highly doubt, the manta is already the largest model that games workshop offers, period, and yet it's only the very smallest space-capable ship the Tau offer, we're unlikely to get anything larger than a manta, unless it's in aeronautica imperialis, but as for the lore, there have always been Tau ships significantly larger than the manta, they just don't participate in ground battles, mainly transport and bombardment

So while the Tau aren't very grimdark, they're an EXCELLENT addition to an overwhelmingly grimdark setting. Especially if the somewhat noblebright faction is the clear underdog that has a shrouded and not promising future.

The space battle scenes are a joy to watch as a Tau player. There’s little and less that needs to be said about what would happen if any major faction applied a little more effort onto the Empire. But the Damocles Crusade proves that if nothing else, the Tau Navy would give any fleet of comparable size (or even a 2-to-1) a dire run for their money.

Damocles Crusade went extremely poorly for the Tau in space, actually. Part of it was that the Tau Navy at the time was indistinguishable from their merchant navy, it was all one and the same. Not to say that they were poorly armed, but they had an hybrid function, and they got demolished in space, no contest. Later, the Tau adapted and started repurposing their naval force, building the Protection Fleet, which was entirely dedicated to space combat. It's still not their strongest point, as pound for pound, Imperial Navy ships of equivalent tonnage are almost always superior to their Tau's equivalent in mainline fighting, which is why Tau have to use the advantage of somewhat longer ranged weaponry to even the field.

Also, every space engagement that the Tau lost, including the initial stages, were due almost exclusively to Imperial boarding forces. They’re are several Imperial quotes that state as much, and as you pointed out, that became far less feasible once the Tau, who had never encountered a true Imperial force before the Damocles, figured out that the Imperium is an entirely inefficient and often self-detrimental fighting force that can be out manoeuvred and outgunned in space.

Fun Fact: the early concepts of the Tau had them in what I can best describe as being “Jedi-like” in their ways of life and war. But GW was like “Nah, it'll be fine” and nerf the Tau by taking away their Lightsaber and Force powers. The only thing that survived was the Farsight Enclave. F##K GW with a chainsword and make the cry!

Yes, you have to pay by subscribing to Warhammer+. But we all understand that there are pirate resources, right?) And as for the threat to fan projects, it's not quite like that. The authors can continue to do their projects, but unfortunately they can't make money on them, because the rights to the universe don't belong to them.

Hilarious that they say the Tau are naive. They did better against Tyrannids than the Imperium. Farsight himself took out three warp demons without realizing with they were using a blade he'd never trained on. That's vastly superior to any other faction in Warhammer 40,000. The Tau are the only ones with the mindset that will eventually unravel every mystery and problem through science.

They are naive in the sense that they think this will last. Mankind was like them, a nascent species that wasnt psychically active until they suddenly where. In 40k the entire fabric of reality in the milky way is fucked beyond repair, first the death of a C'tan that damaged the reality than the active tinkering of the gods and sapient species like the Eldar and Necrons. Space time itself isnt any linear in the galaxy and different overlappings of reality coexist in some parts of the galaxy itself where to an extend different timelines coexist. In one story a Tau who seems to be more susceptive to the warp let herself be transfered to a backwater planet where she stumbled upon a inquisitorial research facility at a later point in the story. Yet during her stay there she began using words like "tainted", "corrupted", "heretical" etc that are extremly unusual for a Tau and to the suprise of herself. Same goes for farsight and why he uses meele weapons, its most likely that he is more psychically active and is getting "infected" by the fucked up state of the galaxy. Hence why most factions tend to use meele weapons, reality is just this fucked that it makes them do it

These Tau tried to set up an ambush and themselves got ambushed. One got killed with a shovel after claiming victory. Their commander then chased an Eldar into the web way and ended up in the actual worst place in the universe outside of Slaanesh's ball gag. I think naive fits hahaha
