The Ghazghkull speech is just the right combination of brutish power, blunt honesty, brain damage and the overwhelming need to do violence to perfectly capture him. But damn does that Constantin Valdor speech hit hard. Gave me big Dr Who vibes. Older, wiser, bringing perspective and the regret of one who was there at the start.

I love the inflection on this version of the Ghazghkull speech, it feels way more authentic than other ones i've heard. it hints at there actually being cunning to them, which is rare for alot of Ork portayals, while i agree that generally they are the brainless brutes with imagination as power, some of the war bosses are tricky and cunning along with being brutal and powerful. The inflection, grit, passion and power behind this speech makes it one of my favorite top 10 "villian" monologues of all time.

What I love about Rogal Dorn's characterization is that he isn't the totally stoic, unflinching person he presents himself as. He's not emotionless, he's just really good at putting up a front of stoicism and an unwavering mein. He's actually very emotional, and has quite a few blow outs in the books. But he's so good at keeping up his front that it gives everyone the impression that he is this unmovable person. That's really cool. Or, rather, he's very good at keeping people from getting under his skin. Listen to him with Fulgrim. His brother is taunting him, calling out his every fault and failing with the wall, and he doesn't break. He just sticks to what he knows: hold the line, trust the process, and Fulgrim will fail. But then with Sigismund, he's like a totally different person. He trusted Sigismund, and when Sigismund betrayed that trust, Dorn was furious. He didn't trust Fulgrim, but he trusted Sigismund, and so that betrayal hit so much harder, and it's no wonder he let his emotions flair then.

Rogal Dorn’s admonishment of Sigismund is one of the most powerful interactions in the lore. We know what becomes of Sigismund, we know how he struck a blow on the Despoiler and fought so well that Abbadon honored Sigismund and refused to allow him to be desecrated. We know the faith and great acts the Black Templars would go on to display. All of it colored by Rogal Dorn’s disavowing of Sigismund. Love it.

We may yet be doomed to lose all we cherish, but we shall do so in the knowledge that we could have turned away, and did not. We remained true.
