The dark eldar's pleasure in sadism is always derived from a root cause of fear; near-paranoia fear to avoid and evade the inevitable - consumption by the very deity that their ongoing revelries have created. So even this archon's arrogance is based on primal fear, however deep down and denied. This rogue trader's experience in actually reaching an accord with a drukhari leader, much less one of such rank, is unique in my own 40k learnings. Such a personal conversation with an archon, this much closer to equal footing with him than I've heard before, was also interesting perspective. The dark eldar: if elves crossbred with Cenobites and became S&M club owners. And those stadiums...of course they have to be pointed out. They don't seem to be attempted to be replicated by any dark eldar outside of Commoragh. Thank you, rogue trader Narrator, for sharing another section from out of the kinda-good captain's Black Fortress logbook. The casual evil of this species is virtually operatic within their society. My favourite presentation of the dark eldar was in Silent Hunters where a bunch of carcharodons are following around a dark elf junkie... It's err a different image than usual 😂

Hmm, I don't recall it being particularly bad? I remember it as being a pretty average BL novel (big angry men who need to do a quest with ritual significance) but with the interesting prospective of the down and out dark eldar. I might be a rather patient critic though, I've probably read or listened to about 300+ 40k novels, novellas, etc... and there's only a handful that I've genuinely struggled to finish (Wrath of the Lost being the most recent, that book would have been about 20% shorter and flowed much better if the author didn't need to remind the audience -at length- that flesh tearers are big mad every single time before one can speak sentence or think a thought 😂)

This is definitely the more grim dark aspect of 40k. The drukari quest for pleasure is disconcerting. And the dude came so close to willingly meeting his demise.

@@GrimDarkNarrator now that’s the question for the ages. What would one sacrifice for an extreme moment of Eros? Disease, loss of limb? Life long illness, or life itself? Or ones soul? Are you religious Mr GDM? Grim Dark 40k raises some serious meta questions. I am a Christian, conservative one at that. This hobby makes me think at times.

Oh boy think the emperor Gregk was there. with his pets otherwise it would have been no returning home for nobody he should be a unlockable character for Warhammer rogue trader oh man he would be the most useful companion, it goes to show the sadistic nature of the Drukhari which Ava failed to see, also archon advisor may have had some sort of hypnotic psychosis controlling him are drugs with the dark eldar you never know, and it's best not to find out also at 5:00 that one Drukhari had a blade point peg leg to bad it wasn't a dark eldar ShardCarbine on his leg it would be like Quentin,Tarantino's planet terror movie."😃👍
