I am first. You know it's funny that imperial guard forces don't always have access to air support? I can see that really screwing them if they're fighting tyranids or orks who can build aircraft on any battlefield

It’s the guard’s lack of combined arms unfortunately, a deliberate weakness to protect against corruption. They definitely HAVE air support, and a ridiculous variety of it at that, but the availability often depends on intel which can be shoddy.

@Barterylane yeah I did know guardsmen regiment are split between infantry, vehicles, and artillery to prevent chaos corruption from getting a really big army. I suppose air forces and the navy (space navy not water) have similar situations
