I hope you have enjoyed this second part of the dwarfs strongholds episode. If you haven’t watched the first one, you can go and check it out now. Just click on the link in the video description to get there. In this second video we focused more on the fallen holds of the dwarfs. Being a troubled race that is constantly fighting for their own survival, there are many stories to be told when it comes to the tragedies the dwarfs have endured over the many years of their existence. Going through the Chaos dwarfs was one of my favorite parts of making this video, learning a bit more about their ways and the things they had to compromise for their own survival was really touching. Just knowing how though and stubborn the dwarfs can be and then to see them surrender themselves against Chaos makes you realize how corrupting, powerful and tempting the ruinous powers can really be. Kriegers fighting Skaven would be one of the most interesting matchups imaginable. Their similarities would make for an amazing conflict. Attrition, digging tunnels, copious amounts of intense poison. Heavy Artillery constantly dropped on their own troops. Shit would be amazing. The only thing that could make it better would be The Kriegsmen becoming best bros with The Dwarves thanks to their love of sacrificing themselves on the battlefield and their stubbornness.

@@thechazz3230 aint there a brutal ongoing conflict between night goblins and Skaven battling each other in tight gas filled tunnels constantly sendig fresh troops to keep the grinder at work? I remember Arch mentioning that in an older video but dunno which conflict was meant. I'm more into 40k not that deep in Fantasy. But your pair makes me think if this would really be a match made in golden throne heaven. The engineering aspect of warfare for sure but Dwarfs as I understand them are proud about who they are, who their ancestors have been, their allies, even to whom they keep grudges. Kriegsmen are faceless numbers, no present, no future and just their ancestors sins to behold and repay by serving the emperor. But if it is not your standard dwarf but yeah I can imagine those dwarfs who took the slayer oath would match Kriegsmen great since they left everything behind as well?

I think Karak Zorn is by far the most interesting of the lost dwarfen holds. Especially when following those loreblurbs which say it is the first dwarf hold and birthplace of the dwarfen species. The mystery of the dwarfen origins, why this hold was forgotten and what happened to it, are great mysterys and stories to be told. And they are a great tool to expand the otherwise contentless southern Southlands

Not just that, it was already lost in the Empire's glory days. There's an entire side arc about it in the war of Venegance, indirectly. A dwarf who decades before had wandered into the jungles of the south to find Karak Zorn suddenly turned up again, but there was something off about him... [Spoiler below] He was either possessed by a daemon or a daemon had taken his form. Drogor's old friend Morgrim didn't trust him anymore, for Good reason, as he was an extremely bad influence on Prince Snorri Whitebeard. If I remember correctly he was slain during the 7th Siege of Tor Alessi

I love dwarf architecture, it's just honestly some of the best, solid stone with larger then life qualities, dark enough that it feels ominous, and it always looks solid enough to prevent anything that comes to them, I particularly love dwarfs having there architecture being such a large source of there pride, even modern day dwarfs are expert builders, however they pale in comparison to there ancestors, it really helps put the tragedy of the dwarfs on display, despite still being experts in most fields, they can't hold a candle to there past, and they know it, all the while they yearn for nothing more then to become as great as there ancestors

Thanks for this wonderful video guys. I want you to know that because of this video, I booted TW WH 2, loaded an old dwarven campaign I had completed ages ago just to rename the settlements of the Red Eye Mountain and Black Crag to their old and glorious rightful dwarven names. I also plan to styart another campaign to reclaim the Silver Pinacle and as I couldn't fdind the old dwarven name for it, I decided that I would rename it Karak Azril (Azril meaning silver in khazalid). Seriously I love how you guys make long videos that go in depth instead of short video to maximize YT revenue. Never change guys, never change....

Perfect timing. I'm karak kadrin and my mates big thorgrim. I keep getting attacked by vamps and some norsican twat on a chariot (not surtha). Hes nearly been obliterated by the scabby eye no less. This might be a stupid question, but how do ogres besiege anything for more than a few weeks, let alone YEARS in a frigid wasteland WITH NO FOOD? Keeping human armies supplied during a siege has always been a huge undertaking, and one of the main burdens to a besieging army. In history attacking armies would supplement their supplies with food from the surrounding area, but the mountains of Morn would not offer enough to feed that many troops. This is all to say a regular, HUMAN, army would have great difficulty taking the karak. However! Ogres have appetites far larger than any human. Supplying an encamped army that is the ICON of gluttony on an Ice blasted mountain would be impossible! How could they stay in one place for more than a week? The local area would be stripped clean of anything edible on the first day. A human army could ration food, but I don't think an ogre one could do the same.
