Next be the Hung

Yay, these are the least known of the major northern tribes. Everyone knows of the Norsca, and it doesn't take too much to figure out who the Hung are inspired by. (Both should be in Total War Warhammer 3 by the way).

There's almost as much lore on the Kurgan as there is on the Norscans, ironically.

In a bizarre coincidence only yesterday I learned that a kurgan is a type of burial mound and that a stone/copper age culture group are named for them 🤔 The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity is a fascinating book 😂

In russian we still use the word kurgan and have mounds with ww2 memorials all over the country.

From what I read in the sigmar trilogy the first defeat against the Norsii was mostly caused by the brother of sigmar’s first love (Gerreon. He defected and joined the Norsii telling them all the strategies and tactics of empire army. Also training them for almost 2 years I on counter tactics. Also if it was not for one of sigmars champions (Myrsa) who made the killing blow on the Demon. With the first rune Fang ever forged by Alaric the Mad. Rune master of the dwarf king Kurgan Iron beard. This is the same King that Sigmar saved when he was only 15 from orcs.

I loved that trilogy. It was too bad they never carried on with it. I would have loved to read about the final war when The Empire is attacked by Morkar the first Everchosen.

What are the major differences between the two? I was under the impression that the kurgan people hate chaos at this point due to their past. If the kurgan people are introduced in warhammer total war would they field a different army?
@Kevc003 жыл бұрын
Not much tbh but culturally the Norscans are obviously inspired by the Norse, the Kurgan are inspired by the Turkic peoples and the Hung are inspire by the Mongols.
@GrimDarkNarrator3 жыл бұрын
The other person got it right. They would probably not field anything too different because the Kurgan are not a full fledged faction with unique units. Even Araby has more individuality than these guys, but there is a good amount of fluff on them anyway.

I'd like to see a video about the hungs sembler cousins of the kurgan

A very extremely awesome video as always GrimDark Narrator, oh the Kurgan are very interesting, also yes the Kurgan are most numerous of the northmen tribes and are the big bad of the three main chaos worshipping northmen peoples as well too.

Glad you like them!

Who are the Kurgan? Just one more intellectual property ripped off by Games Workshop. This time from the highlander movie.

They're also heavily inspired by the steppe peoples in the way norscans are based on scandinavians.
