40:10 that unit is a Grail Reliquary. Namely a corpse of a fallen Grail Knight made into a mobile shrine by the most devout Battle Pilgrims acting as its steed. In game and lore, it can greatly boost morale and make them immune to psychological effects.

A Grail Relique, not a Reliquary, though you might have been screwed by autocorrect. The difference is a Relique is the body of a saint, whereas a Reliquary is a container.

The undead may seem unstoppable but they have a big weakness. The hordes of walking corpses cannot function without a constant flow of necromantic magic, kill their puppetmaster and they will fall inert once again. Of course that is easier said than done when the one controlling them is a powerful inmortal vampire, but it can be done. This is reflected in total war as well, their armies are very centered around their lords and heroes, cut the head of the snake and the rest is easy. Now that i think about it they share many similarities with the tyranids, everything that dies is converted into biomass used to produce even more nids but they rely on synapse creatures to coordinate them, Once those are eliminated they become much more manageable.

7:51 yeah, in terms of 1v1 average human lose to basically any magic creature that lives in Warhammer Fantasy world, but when it comes to fight no one fight alone when he fights for Franz!

The thing with magic in Warhammer Fantasy is that due to the way it flows through the world from the poles to the vortex the Elves created, it kinda seperates into 8 distinct "winds". Most magic practitioners in the setting fall into one of two categories: The first category essentially channel their magic through the gods (be it the Chaos Gods, Gork&Mork or various minor deities like Sigmar or Hashut), letting their chosen deity kinda shield them from most of the bad stuff. The cost of that is that they must be actual believers and practice the ideals of that deity, and even then the gods can be stingy or fickle. The other one do it directly, and there's where the winds come in: Channeling all the eight winds (unless you can purify them, which only a few High Elves and the Slann can really pull off) is black magic and if at all even more dangerous and corruptive than in 40k. (Necromancy is a sort of bastardization of it that sort of prioritizes one of the eight winds.) What most wizards do is channeling only *one* of the eight winds, which shoehorns them into specific spells and effects, but makes the whole corruption thing a lot less severe and far more predictable in what it'll cause. So for example Bright Wizards channel the wind of fire, with almost their entire spell repertoire being centered around burning stuff (though there's also some conceptual/thematic stuff in there. RPG Bright Wizards for example have a spell that renders the party immune to fear - lighting a fire in people's hearts.) and rather than going totally bonkers tehy over time just tend to get a "fiery" temper and their hair starts going bright orange to red. (Dwarves instead do rune magic, which is extremely safe and reliable, but also extremely demanding on the runesmith and just completely inflexible. A magic rune does one thing, and only ever one thing, basically, and creating a new one is something of a life's work even for the best runesmiths.) 1:19:45: Oh, it's evne crazier than that. The Beastmen didn't just get a new DLC lord and some new units, they also got a full *FREE* rework of their campaign mechanics alongside the DLC drop. Same goes for the Wood Elves during Twisted&Twilight. A number of other older factions got similar treatment during late Warhammer 2 and then in Warhammer 3.

Might suck to be a human in this world, yet they are still kicking and have beaten many of those factions that have big monsters in battles many times. :)

Orcs are not the same in Fantasy and 40k. Black Orcs in Fantasy are the Orks in 40k, who only want the next best fight, whereas regular Orcs are a lot more goofy and will often have aspirations beyond seeking out the next, biggest fight. One of the more famous Orcs for example, Gorfang Rotgut, wanted to become a king and set up his own tollbooth lanes, Azhag got really annoyed by Orc infighting and wanted to become a separate ruler (even when he wasn't arguing with the ghost possessing him he still wanted to rule his own), and Ruglud is happy to fight for whoever so long as they pay him. A better way in general to describe Fantasy Greenskins is they're ruled by greed. They want what you have, and if they have to fight to get it, so much the better. Something also interesting about Karl Franz, the Emperor, is that he became Emperor not because he's a great warrior (he's good, not great) and not because he's the greatest strategist (he's a really good one though), but because he's one of the world's greatest statesmen. He has a natural affinity for politics and knew how to play people for/against each other really well, so it's fortunate he's also got the Empire's best interest in mind rather than his own. Also Skaven are in 40k, they were called the Hrud, before GW retconned the Hrud to look like weird slime monsters. As far as the content for the most recent DLC goes, the most recent DLC was overpriced, but they made an update that fixed that. They nearly doubled its content for free, and then added a new free DLC mount for everyone (if we include that, they fully doubled its size) so that certainly made its price a lot more reasonable, as far as content goes.

That bit about the Emperor is really interesting, usually in these stories people with that position in the lore need to be "the best" at someting more contemporary, like fighting, that's a cool way to go about making your lore relevant character stand out.

You're saying the orks from 40k aren't goofy? Bro their technology in 40k is the equivalent of skaven technology, it kills tehm as much as it kills the enemy.

@@PingachuWarham Re-read what I wrote, I said Fantasy Orcs are "A LOT MORE" goofy, because it's true. I never said that 40k Orks were not goofy. I'd appreciate it if you didn't put words in my mouth.

A simple rundown of each faction, The Empire is just the Holy Roman Empire, but fantasy, but also just as disfunctional. The Dwarfs are typical fantasy dwarves, but they are WAY more spiteful, and know how to hold a grudge. Orc are Orks from 40k, but with medieval level tech. Also the the goblins, play a bigger role in the faction, as opposed to their 40k counterpart, the Gretchens, so the faction as a whole is referred to as Greenskins. Vampire Counts are your Transylvania horror. Brettonia is King Arthur, but they're French. Wood Elves are violent tree hugger, but the trees hug back, sometimes lovingly, and sometimes not so much. Warriors of Chaos are the evil knights faction, and alot more spiker, which means they're more evil. Norsca are the vikings, but chaos corrupted The High Elves are fantasy elves, but with a mix of Atlantis, befoee it sank into the ocean. Dark Elves are BDSM elves, and spiker, so you know what that means, they're evil. Lizardmen are Aztec, but scaler and have dinosaurs Skaven are rats of unusual size, and they do not exist. Tomb Kings are Egyptian, but undead, but their undead, so that means mummies. Vampire Coasts are Purates of the Caribbean, and they even have their own Jack Sparrow character, if he was a vampire. Kislev is a combination of all the Slavic natuons, but fantasy, and ride bears. Cathy is Dynasty Warriors version of China, but fantasy...well, more fantasy, since Dynasty Warriors was also pretty much fantasy too. Khorn is the Chaos god of War blood and rage, and the faction is his daemons Tzeench is the god of magic and deceit, and apparently birds. Nurgle is the god COVID, and obviously good at spreading diseases. Slaanesh is the god of sex, drugs and Rock n Roll, and also, good at spreading diseases. Chaos Dwarfs are like the regular dwarfs, but Babylonian, and evil.
