I do hope that, at some point, they do add a level were you do fight alongside friendly NPC forces, similar to a Stormvermin patrol but on your side. Only as a temporary measure for a certain section of the game, perhaps during the defense of the Castle or some other major battle, but it would be nice to see an actual, visible response beyond just the five heroes fighting back. Maybe make them a troop of Halberdiers or Greatswords or something like that, but a proper section were it actually feels like you're part of a proper faction fighting back against the hordes of Chaos and Destruction would be nice.

That's what i've been saying! I get that to make the player feel dread and despair, they don't add friendly troops , but c'mon! After a while doesn't even feel like the Empire is fighting back! I long for a few levels where you feel like you are fighting alongside a true army!

Those Imperial soldiers were Ostlanders. You can tell by the black and white uniforms. Ostland is one of the northern provinces bordering Kislev. Their harsh lands are sparsely populated and they themselves are generally poor. Northmen raids are common in Ostland, and whenever a Chaos invasion makes it through Kislev, it ususlly pushes into Ostland on its way to the great cities of Middenheim and Altdorf. The constant danger of attacks has made Ostlanders famously grim and stubborn. When the hordes of hell come charging at them, the soldiers of Ostland dig in their heels and fight back with a determination born of hardship and pride. Their province's most common symbol, a red bull's head, is a fitting tribute to such a defiant people. Religiously, the people of Ostland accept all the usual gods of the Empire, but they strongly favor Sigmar. One of Ostland's most famous units is the Fireloques of Ferlagen, a group of handgunners who are particularly stubborn even by Ostland standards. Their nickname, the Skull Clubbers, refers to a three-day battle where, after running out of ammunition, the Fireloques used their guns as clubs to hold the Imperial army's flank against attacking northmen. The imperfections in the tuning of the instruments gives such a sense of realism, as if the soldiers on the battlefield are creating this war cry with their war torn instruments. I don't think I would have been half as invested in this game if it wasnt for the soundtrack.
