I remember in the 80s, baseball cards was huge. That's when Jose consceco and Mark Mcguire played for the As. Strawberry and Dwight Gooden played for the Mets and there was quite a few more big named players who cards we'd be looking for. But packs of cards was expensive for a kid. And the older kids would say let's all pitch in and buy bunch of packs of cards so we cam try to get these good players cards etc. And they'd use that same line "it'll be like all our baseball cards, we'll just keep the collection at my house" and we'd never see them cards ever again smh lol
