This level comes out of nowhere. There's no answer for it either as far as I can tell. Syrup just happens to have a evil surrealist nightmare cave.

the thing that creep me out about this stage the most was the random ememies frozen to the walls, initally thought that they were going to come to life in some grotesque form

I never got to this part of the game when I was really young. I was probably 14 when I came back to this game and FINALLY got all the treasures and puzzle pieces. That felt incredible. I remember having this idea... "What if this tower... Was alive?" I started thinking it was a monster, which was why enemies were frozen in its fleshy walls. That, plus the creepy body parts all over the level...

Syrup just has a random portal to Purgatory in her castle, cool Also, I feel like the devs were playing a prank when they ended this insane level with... a giant spearman. That's it. Lol.

This theme is so (final boss) like, when I was a kid, this level and this music really disturbed me. But now, although it still has that disturbing feel, I also realize it for how excellent and groundbreaking it was for 8bit sounds back then. This is one of the crown gems in my video game childhood and you bought countless memories back thanks to your upload. You have my full and eternal thanks.

This level disturbed me with all the random teeth, eyes and noses everywhere. And this level was TOUGH. I'm glad the final boss wasn't really anything new or hard, but it was walking on invisible platforms, so that kinda sucked.

The final boss was a total anticlimax. Even if they were lazy, they could still have made it a boss rush of the end bosses of a few of the branches/

Captain Syrup's hidden treasure wasn't located in her castle, it was elsewhere in a cave. Also it's called Syrup castle not Skull castle.
