Yeah, Nintendo's gotten pretty small on D-pads starting with the GameCube. I figure it's because they expect everyone to use analog? I'm pretty sure that if you tried selling Waluigi merchandise, you'd be sued out of your pants. He's part of the Nintendo franchise despite his "Party Games" origins and continued presence in seemingly only those games. That said, I have yet to see him in a, uh, "real" game either. (Trivia: Try playing Mario Tennis 64 without any controllers plugged in and see what happens!)

That's the fake widescreen mode the game uses. If you are using a widescreen TV and would prefer simply black bars, you have to go to the Wii Menu and set the display as 4:3. (Make sure you have your TV set to properly display this and NOT stretch the picture) There is no true widescreen in this game.
