The antithesis to Mario Sunshine, Wario World being ridiculously short including saving the gremlins and collecting every puzzle piece, while in Sunshine defeating Bowser just barely scratched the surface of the game's road to 100%
@UndeadCollector2 ай бұрын
Don't forget, how poorly the 100% was made in Sunshine. 240 Blue coins and some of them are super cryptic to find. And some Shinesprites are way out of place in difficulty. Like the one with Yoshi and the Boat to reach a Bonus level, which is even more difficult. (Toxic Water and Red Coins) Or the Pachinko Game of Hell. Out of all 3D Mario Games, Sunshine is the worst if it comes to reach 100%

@@justasimplemanworkinghiswa1569 I don't talk about how much you need to collect. I talk about how they are placed and how lazy they feel, to reach the 120 Shinesprites. 24 of them. I actually liked it more to find the hidden shinesprite in every level. If it comes to Odyssey: I enjoyed to collect every moon and 100% the Game. Even the hard ones. Yes the amount is also huge here, but they are not that crypitc hidden and there are ingame options to find them. But im honest: i don't want to collect all Moons again soon, but if i need to choose between Sunshine and Odyssey, i would play Odyssey. Besides that: Mario Galaxy is also a great example of 100%. I like that the 100 Coin Stars are different challenges, which is a huge improvement over Mario 64 (on a side note: i Let's played all of them on my channel 🤫) and im a big fan if it comes to comparing stuff

Minor Correction at about 7:30 or so. Grabbing Dinomightys Tongue and Tail actually do do something. You’re supposed to use them to Ground Pound her head, which instantly stuns her for a follow up. You just gotta hold on for a bit longer than you did in the clip You can also chuck those pillars in the arena at her feet, which can send her into the lava and burn her for damage as well.

It’s surprising to me in retrospect how disturbing this game kinda is. No matter what level you play, there’s something in this game that feels… outta sorts in some way. The bosses, the way Wario’s face animates, the music, the way things move, it all has this weird uneasiness to them. (Don’t get me started on inflated Wario in 3-1’s boss) But I am quite nostalgic for this game, it isn’t mind-blowing, but it’s one of the more unique platformers I’ve played. There’s nothing really like it out there. I hope it gets a rerelease one day with the Japanese Phase 2 of the final boss.

How did you know it was my Birthday, and that I would really appreciate a video from you analyzing one of the weirdest Nintendo games of my early childhood? Thank you! Also, the general weird, creepy vibes + the beat-em-up combat of Wario World can be easily explained by the fact it was made by Treasure. Treasure was known for some incredibly weird AND awesome games like Gunstar Heroes, Silhouette Mirage, Radiant Silvergun and Mischief Makers. On top of working on a Wario game for Nintendo, they made licensed games for random Western IPs such as Ronald MacDonald (the MacDonald's clown mascot) and especially a few games for the Tiny Toons franchise for whatever reason.

so fun fact, this game was made by treasure, a team of former konami devs who were fed up of mainly making sequels. they're mainly known for gunstar heroes and dynamite heady, but they also made so other gems like astro boy for gba. their games aren't always perfect, and were sometimes quite weird, but they always had charm and a lot of heart, and i'd say that describes this game pretty well. (also that gem pun was unintentional and now i'm kicking myself because i was trying to avoid the easy joke)

I gather most Nintendo fans aren't familiar with the tiny, celebrated studio behind Wario World (Treasure Corp.), as they were strictly a SEGA affiliate back in their heyday. They were a tiny, independent company, and the reason Wario World is short, sweet, and unbalanced is down to Treasure excelling at short, tight, 2D arcade/action titles (with outlandish creativity being their calling card) but sadly, they always struggled with 3D development. It should also be noted that they were juggling a LOT of work to pay the bills around the early-mid 2000's. Wario World was their second true 3D game, and possibly their last (the first one was the insane Stretch Panic on the PlayStation 2, from 2001, which Wario World borrows quite a lot from). As for Wario's creators (Nintendo RD1), they couldn't create 3D games at all. They also had their hands full with Metroid Fusion and the first WarioWare at that time, so the buck stopped with Treasure on this project. Suffice to say, though, Wario World was by no means a lazy effort. Quite the contrary.
@TheLonelyGoomba2 ай бұрын
They did go on to make Sin and Punishment 2 which is 3d (*cough* I had world records at one point *cough*). But yeah they are largely forgotten now. I just didn't really feel like talking about the developer in the video as all id be doing is listing prior games they made.
