Depends on the era and area of Sparta. In some areas like Leonidas' it was dishonorable to wear chest plates. To those Spartans surviving a blow to the chest made you one of the elite. Many did but that was partly to their diet which created thicker barrel chests among many Grecians not just Spartans.

That doesn't look like a god of war axe and that's not a gladiator helmet. It looks like a dane axe and the helmet, although it's cool. It's not historically accurate at all. Gladiators did not use that.

I followed Warkings way before the "Gladiator" single was release. I pre-order REBORN and REVENGE. I am a huge fan of this band, this record company, and the whole theme of this band. This is one of the best modern Power Metal bands out there. When their 3rd studio album gets all the details. I will pre-order the 3rd album.
