If you block a respawn, the game freaks out in certain areas and doesn't know where to spawn you, so it dumps you at the next "load zone". Which in this case (both times) is the boss arena.

Yea, unfortunately it's the same settings I've used to stream for years so didn't think to make adjustments. Long story short, GoXLR's mix does something weird to the sound output and kills the audio and then on top of that I play at 1 for all in-game audio channels. I boosted it to 300% in OBS and it's still somewhat quiet but better, so whenever I upload next it should be better.

If you die on that spot while you're weirdly floating it does funny spawn manipulation to put you by the ogre. Though, you still have to hit the checkpoint st the beginning of the open area to be able to start the encounter but you can have someone skate over there

Any number of things could be the reason. API times are notoriously filled with cheaters and net-limiters. On the flip side, official speedrun rules differ from the game itself. Seasonal mods are typically not allowed (they were allowed when we ran it) and there could be mods this season that make the run much easier. Ignoring all of that, the meta itself could favor faster runs compared to when we did it (pre-TFS). I don't really keep up with Destiny anymore, so I have no idea but if you asked me this pre-TFS then that time would only have been possible via a glitch/cheats or because someone found a new skip.

I'm not the best person to answer that question, but I believe technically you could do it with just a glacier nade. The general idea is to block the respawn point so the game kinda gives up and puts you to the next "checkpoint". The destiny speed run discord is probably the best place to get an actual answer.

Usually all rockets are used during the normal damage phase; in this specific instance I certainly could've fired that last rocket during final, it just wasn't part of our normal rotation so I didn't think about it in the moment

I would not recommend doing this for a normal run whatsoever LMAO. 1-2 skip is def viable, but much of the damage rotations are reliant on strand titan going crazy with damage.
