Nice video, thanks for that. It'd be interesting to see the process from the double slapchopped mini to the final one. Especially for the skin. I mean the difference is quite stark, when I compare the mini at 9:18 to the mini at 11:32. So I'd like to know what steps are needed to achieve that look. Looks great!

Thanks! Will make just a skin video painting with SlapChop. I refrained showing my glazing, since my glazing videos get less views. ☺️

This gives me a lot of insight as to how to refine my attempts at learning how to do this style of painting better! My initial attempts have been...decent, but not great. This is a great companion video to your beginners' video for this style, and is making me want to drop money on the Army Painter Speedpaints 2.0 set, further! My acrylics will never be replaced, but this is a perfectly good style to learn for speed and efficiency.

Very nice videos ! Im new to this method, but i wonder about the "underpainting" steps, wont the very light/white final drybrush mask the warm brown undertone? No critic, just a question for understanding how to get started, im not a big fan of the finish from the Black/white basings, but the saturated warm tones looks very nice! Thank you for the sharing and comprehensive turorials!

I am going to paint up a Legion of the Damned kill team. I was thinking about trying a reverse slap chop starting with white, then yellow, red and finally black. I want to give the impression that the model is on fire inside the armor. Do you think this will work?
@DonSuratos12 сағат бұрын
This will work mighty fine! Not sure if “reverse slapchop” is the perfect term, but with light pressure with the dry brushing, you should produce great results bro. 😊🎨🎨🎨

Hello! Did i understand you correctly that you can do the basic slapchop with airbrush? I recently started airbrushing with a H&S Ultra 2024. Wouldn't you get each color too much in the recesses by spraying compared to brushing ?
@DonSuratos12 сағат бұрын
Oh you can airbrush Soeedpaints bro, BUT they won’t produce deeper shades on the recessed details. They will have very good coverage as base colors though. 😊
@benjaminlenert876810 сағат бұрын
@@DonSuratos And if i try to do a slap-chop i should not use the airbrush because the atomized paint would get into the recesses, regardless of speedpaints or normal fanatic paints, right?
@DonSuratos10 сағат бұрын
@ would “not” get into the recesses bro. 😊

@@DonSuratos Thank you! I was trying to replicate Ninjons "Speedpaint"-Technique, in which he undercoats with a gradient from purple at the bottom to white-sepia to the top. Perhaps you know the video. The result was not convincing, because (i think) he used GW contrast and i use army painter speedpaints. Or the ratio was to thin or whatever. Just now i did some Deep Ones from Cthulhu and sprayed speedpaints on one basic slapchop-Layer on gray primer. That gave me a nice gradient but no shadows so i ended up painting them with another layer of speedpaint. I am still trying to find the fitting technique to aquire and grow with for the next few models, which i can convincingly replicate. I Think i would try your warm slap-chop for the crimson croc from Kingdom Death. Dark-Grey Primer, then two airbrushed slap-chop layers of Sepia Brown and some warm yellow followed by speed paints... What do you think?
@DonSuratos8 сағат бұрын
@ Oh… I rarely watch other miniature painter’s videos bro. Keep the underpainting simple, then let your blending and the Speedpaints do it’s magic. 😉
