Trio of Vegan Risottos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWaceWR9m8aCb5o Recipe notes and tips: - Amaranth pseudo grain further reading: www.glnc.org.au/resource/when-is-a-grain-not-a-grain-when-its-a-pseudo-grain/ - I’ve not tried this myself, but I wonder if it’d be possible to use pickled beets in an emergency? I’d definitely suggest rinsing them first to get off as much of the pickling brine away as possible - I did initially think about doing salt baked beets. Salt baking intensifies flavours. In the past, I didit by mixing salt into whipped egg whites, but that’s not vegan. I wasn’t sure if aquafaba would tolerate the salt, so I didn’t bother. I’ve just seen this web page with some info though, I’ll be trying in the future: chef.studio/salt-roasted-beets - Grain cooking times on packets are often wrong! I try to test things after 5 mins, and continue to try every couple of mins until tender - With the cheese tuile; you’ll see a lot of fat come out as it cooks down, just blot with paper towel after taking of the pan as it cools - For those wanting to avoid grains for whatever reason, grab yourself some tapioca pearls. I used them in the sabudana khichdi kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3mxe62mr6ibb6s

Looks nice. I have pickled beets with my lunch almost daily. I've never had plain roasted beets. Going to try some.

Not sure if it will work with all grains but pre-washing to get the starch out before cooking usually stops it from becoming too sticky!

Real you need to make a completely can't get enough quinoa. It's such a superfood. All the amino acids you need to make a complete protein and a nice change of pace from the soy that usually dominates so much of plant-based commercial offerings. If a creator is making content you enjoy please make the effort to support them. (especially up and coming type content creators) Direct financial support is always the best but liking and subscribing goes a long way as well. Leaving a few words of encouragement in the comment section is not only good for moral but also boosts the mysterious youtube algorithms as well. take an extra minute to watch the ads especially the ones at the end of the video to really thank your favorite channels.

I was reading something recently about complete proteins; seems it's a bit of a myth! Our bodies are apparently very good at storing and recycling nutrients, so as long as we consume a generally varied diet, proteins get completed in vitro!

@@AuntieRachelsChaoticKitchen You're right it doesn't have to be a 1 to 1 ratio at every meal but you do have to make a conscious effort to consume all 9 of the essential amino acids your body doesn't produce on its own.

Unrelated question... what do you feed your cat?
@AuntieRachelsChaoticKitchen3 ай бұрын
Meat-based cat food, because cats are obligate carnivores
