I was practicing and it was raining really heavily outside. I started practicing the "open waves" exercise and it melted into the ambience like, perfectly. The rain slowed a bit and became more gentle so I switched to "ascending droplets". Never knew warm-ups could feel so damn surreal.

I got to make another comment here because I find these extremely well thought out and the idea of cycling through the circle of 5ths. Bravo well done, thank you for passing these on. I am enjoying working on these exercising very much. It’s not boring at all unless I don’t improvise a bit at the memorising stage, the 2, 5, 1 makes you want to play it again. Excellent.

My left hand is begging for mercy. :) Seriously though, I am left-handed, even left-handed pianists have a weak left hand compared to the right hand.
@R.Williams
@R.Williams 4 жыл бұрын
Is that because alot of music focuses on the right hand? Just curious. I've never really thought about it...
@peterjansen4826
@peterjansen4826 4 жыл бұрын
@@R.Williams I am not an expert but it seems to me that it has to do with most composers preferring to use higher notes for the melodies. There is nice music with the melody being played by the left hand but usually that is not the case. Anyway, probably most of us (people who play the piano) should practice more melodies with the left hand. Etudes are a good way to do that, though boring.
@R.Williams
@R.Williams 4 жыл бұрын
@@peterjansen4826 I see... It definitely is more difficult to bring out the melody with the left hand. I'm thinking of Liebestraum by Liszt (which is the only one I can think of right now because I'm playing it - I have a terrible memory) where the melody switches back and forth between the right and left hand.
@peterjansen4826
@peterjansen4826 4 жыл бұрын
@@R.Williams Generally speaking I think about more dramatic themes for melodies in the left hand. Sometimes the accompanying notes are fast too though, like in sonatas from Mozart.

I like the renditions the most are of the pieces "C" and "D" when played slow... The frailty of the notes as a sound bridge makes it more... haunting, at least to my deaf ears... (The elegance of executions remind me of my favorite from you "The Outer Ripples".....) Keep it up!
