So I have been using this warm up for about 3 months now and my range has extended very easily to high F (F6). I wholeheartedly recommend this lesson to any serious singer.
@majesticsunset81843 жыл бұрын
How frequently did you do these warm ups? Did you do anything else to help you extend your range? I'm trying to get to an E6, my range goes up to a D6 but that step to get to the E is a lot 😅
@dianeshepherdlyricsoprano13943 жыл бұрын
@@majesticsunset8184 It varies but I do this particular one at least once a week. There is an opera warm up I do sometimes which starts in chest voice and works up to head voice. The author is a pro opera singer and it's the warm up she uses. If she feels she is not reaching the higher notes as the scale rises, she does fast blows like doggy pants with those little things used as parties, that unroll. I use the inner from a tube of cling film, the opening being about 1cm across, as I don't have voice straws. I cup my spare hand around the opening to make the aperture narrower. I have found it really helps.

I lost my voice during my marriage, due to emotional turmoil. This was twelve years ago. I just started singing again (on my own), but tend to dive right into the aria's. Of course my voice gets tired fast. This is going to help me so much!

I used to sing in the coloratura range until I got COVID. I've been too afraid to see what my full range is now. I just know that singing *feels* different now. These exercises are very similar to what I used to do with my favorite vocal coach, who I can't afford anymore. So who knows? maybe the familiarity will get me to see what I can sing now.

This is not going to be what most people expect it will be: It's complicated For very experienced singers Escalates rapidly Zero explanations (but the target audience for this video probably doesn't need verbal coaching) BUT it's not like she doesn't specify in the title AND in the video information section, exactly whom the warm up is for I do think she should verbally say that this is for the experienced and that Nobody should attempt to reach such high notes so quickly. Aside from this video having been a little frustrating, I will say that there is one thing that she does that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE: She continues to sing a long throughout the warm up!!! Someone else commented that they didn't care for that but I imagine they are very experienced. I find it extremely helpful. Her vocals being on the track not only help you remember more complicated exercises but also serves as a vocal guide for both pitch and accuracy. It's nearly impossible to find videos in which the instructor provides guided warm ups like this. I hope she has a simpler guided vocal warm up video. Dr Dan has one too. Also, I love that there's no mindless chatted.... I don't mean instruction... But rather that never-ending rambling that almost every KZbinr is guilty of

For a number of months now I have been studying coloratura, in both forms, high range and the coloratura that most people are familiar with. I have used this warm up a few times now and feel it has really helped me to strive even further and I feel pretty "stretched" (in a positive way). Very helpful....thank you.
