Yes. True. The warmest parka that I've ever worn. How warm?? I cannot wear the parka for more than 5 minutes indoors because I sweat and overheat. When I was visting nothern Manitoba during February, I saw the young nursing graduates who were assigned to Churchill. Upon entering The Complex Building, each nurse would immediately remove her parka and then unzip her bib overalls like a banana, so she would be wearing just a tank-top in order to vent heat, such is the difference between negative 30F outdoors to postive 60F indoors.

My Snow Mantra is nice but I think I'd choose the Resolute because the Mantra has Bellow Pockets and what ever you put in them makes the coat look fatter, The Mantra has 2 huge outside pockets and 2 the same on the inside, Infact they are that big you can put an A4 Folder in anyone of them.

​ @prey There are a couple of bad features that all CG coats have, The first instant anoyance is the moment you put it on the Wool Cuffs will stick and snag on the Velcro which will pull threads and make the cuffs go fuzzy, 2nd is the end of the Zipper where you slot it in to the main body it wears and frays and the only way to stop that is the heat up a piece of metal until cherry red and smooth it out hardening the plastic so it lasts a bit longer otherwise you are going to have to replaces it, Mine did this after a few times of trying it on. I always use to wear Alpha N3B parkas and I have gone back to wearing them because when layered with the proper military kit they will keep you warm down to -60*f and for civilian use Alpha rate them down to -20*f / -28.88*c, the Alphas have better cuffs and Zippers and many of the features the CG parkas have they copied off of the Military N3B, and another thing Is I can buy 4 to 6 N3B's for the cost of the Snow Mantra which I find too uncomfortable and heavy, I think the Alpha N3B is the Better Coat, I have one that is 23/24 years old I cant see the Snow Mantra lasting that long even though it is a beautiful coat.

I just got mine and I absolutely love it. I bought mine in size small for $840 on grailed (a massive discount since retail is $1600). Also, I am a 5 foot 7 male and I did get a women's version. Honestly, I was nervous because I thought it wouldn't fit right but it fits perfectly. The only difference between the women's (mine) and the mens is that the zipper is on the left side rather than the right.

Sorry one more message. Yeah so if you are not puffed up like a marshmallow than something is wrong. You could probably wear a full goose vest with hood under the Mantra parka and close its inner vest over the full vest. It will still be light in weight but you will be puffed up and that is the proper way. You will look like a Japanese sumo wrestler if it is set up properly.

I do remember a coat I saw at Eastern Mountain Sports a long time ago in NYC. It was rated minus 98DEG! I am interested in buying something for a trip. If any cold air gets in there than you are going to freeze. It has to fit tight. Snow Mantras are sized differently. A size small is like a size large in ordinary goose parka size....however the truth be told if you can get a goose fashion parka that had no inner vest but is one size too big for you and than wear the thickest goose vest underneath. You will look as round and fat as the marshmallow man however it is the warmest option because of the thicker vest and it also doubles the hood. The police in Canada do it that way. When it is minus 33 Celsius or colder outside than nobody cares what anyone looks like.

In Truly Cold places your Body will bypass most Cold symptoms and then go in to convulsions as you start to go in to shock, This can happen in a matter of minutes without warning, That is why this Coat Saved my Bacon. Once you start to warm up within 15/20 minutes or so things start to get back to normal, Being cold effects people differently and you have only minutes to make a plan, The Worse thing about it is that is does not have to be seriously Cold, and it can happen when you go from one Temp to another and it can happen in Temps from 12*c/53.6*f and below,

The function of those should straps are not for lifting or dragging people dude seriously research the features of the jacket. The velcro on the ID pocket are for exactly that to tuck the ID part inside the pocket behind it. The strap on the back is the drag strap.

Canada Goose snow mantra is not the warmest jacket on the planet by any stretch of the imagination. E. G. Rab expedition is warmer. TNF Himalayan Parka and MHW Absolute Zero jacket are equally warm. The warmest on planet are: PHD Omega Jacket with 900 FP goose down, Feathered Friends Rock and ice parka with 850+ FP down, and one more jacket produced by small Russian company Sivera - Arkuda Pro jacket.

I read a very detailed and long review from an extreme weather fanatic who loves collecting the best gear and he said that the snow mantra was warmer than the e.b rab expedition. I think the snow mantra can handle -70 Celsius which is very impressive.

Fjallraven expedition down parka has box wall construction, like 8000 m jackets; Snow Mantra doesn't. It's thickest than Snow Mantra but it isn't the warmest jacket in the world. It's probably the Robert's Outdoor Equipment Polaris Extreme 700 which is filled with 700 g of 850 goose down in size M and has a double box wall construction.

CG is not the warmest parkas you can get. They are good for -30C or -40C. They've been getting cheaper made and putting in duck down and not superior Goose. There are other brands that are now superior with more down fill and lower temperatures it can handle. CG is more of a status symbol and brand name. It's still a good winter jacket, but the best? Oh no. If you're in America or wamer parts of Canada, don't worry about it. If you're in Northern Canada, Alaska, etc, you can do better than CG.

I hate these type of videos. It’s a lame excuse to flex on us who don’t sport $1500-$2500 jacket. Honestly they aren’t worth that much money and you can do just as well using something around $400
